Moyvane Notes – 26th December, 2006

North Kerry Championship Final: 
A huge crowd attended the North Kerry Football Final between Ballyduff and Listowel on St. Stephens Day. Ballyduff won the final by 1-12 to Listowel 0-14. The game was exciting with never more than a point between the teams. Before the start of the final, the official dedication of the stand in memory of Cormac O'Leary took place.

The Chairman of the Moyvane GAA Paddy Mulvihill spoke about the achievements of Cormac, how he came to Moyvane in the 1940's as a school teacher in the local school, Cormac served a Chairman of the Moyvane GAA Club and trainer of the Moyvane Team for many years in the 1950's and 1960's. Chairman of the County Board Sean Walsh unveiled the plaque in his memory. Paddy Mulvihill also said that the final completion of the development of the field will be completed within a month, and that all work undertaken has been paid for.
