YOUTH CLUB

THERE will be no Youth Club on Friday February 25, but members are invited to the Bord Na Nog Disco and Medal Presentation in the Marian Hall, 8-10pm.

GAA NOTES

Seniors: Moyvane beat Ballylongford in the North Kerry league last Sunday, 3-7 to 0-10. Next Sunday they play St Senans in the final round in Moyvane at 2pm.

Bord Na Nog: Medals for successful U15 and U14 teams will be presented at a disco this Friday in the Marian Hall. Registration for under-age teams will take place this Sunday in the dressing rooms at noon.

The Bord’s annual church gate collection will be taken up at all masses this weekend.

Membership for the Moyvane GAA club is open at €10 for ordinary and €30 for players to cover the players’ Injury Scheme. This closes on March 31. Only those who join by that date will be eligible for big match draws for tickets and votes at our next AGM.

SINGING

Mary Mulvihill is setting up a singing class in the Marian Hall on Friday February 25 at 5pm. All are welcome. Contact Mary at 49262 or 087 6228766.

DEATHS

The death took place of Paddy Buckley, Bruree, and late of Main Street, Moyvane. He was 80 years of age. He is survived by his wife, daughter, brothers Fr. Michael, Liam, Joe, sisters Kit and Marie, son-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death took place recently of Patrick J Kennelly, Gortdromagowna. He was in his late 80’s. His remains were removed to Knockanure Church last Saturday and he was buried in the Old Cemetery Knockanure after Requiem Mass on Sunday. He is survived by his sons Jeremiah, John, Mort, Pat, Tom and Stan, daughters Maryrose, Rita, Eileen, Joan, and Nora, sister Mary, a wide family circle and friends.

The death took place recently of Fr Dan Griffin former parish priest of Brosna, and curate in Moyvane during the 1960s. He was 86 years of age. He was keen on fishing, fowling and gardening. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved families.

BADMINTON

The Division 4 Mixed League team defeated Killarney B 7-0 last week. Team was: Lisa Purcell, Mary Lynch, Catriona Ambrose, Donal Enright, Dermot Keane and Christopher McCarthy.

The Division 5 Ladies Challenge Team defeated Listowel 4-2. Team was: Deirdre Normoyle, Eileen Roche, Michelle Nolan & Frances O’Reilly.



WALK

Health and Fun Walk in Ballylongford this Sunday at 2.30pm. Meeting at the Chapel yard, walk to Rusheen, down to small bridge, turn left Gurtard, Mortra, out on to the main road at Ahanagran, Clounamon turn down road to Kilelton, Carrigafoyle, Carrig Island, Rusheen, back to chapel yard. Seven and half miles approx. Everybody welcome.



BIRDWATCH

In association with Tarbert Development, we are holding a outing to the Bird Hide, and a visit to the John F Leslie woodland walk, and a talk and slide show on the Wildlife of Ireland, by Geoff Hunt. Meet at Tarbert Bridewell this Saturday at 2pm sharp. Light refreshments available.
