Moyvane Notes – 26th May, 2010

Marian Hall Bingo & Blotto: 
The committee would like to apologise to everyone for last Thursday night’s cancellation. Unfortunately the ESB couldn’t guarantee that the power would be back before half past eight so there was no option but to cancel. This week things will be back to normal and both Bingo & Blotto will be on this Thursday night and the Jackpot will be €8,500.

Moyvane GAA:

Juniors: Moyvane Juniors played County League games last week against Duagh and Ardfert. They won against Duagh 2-9 to 1-9 on Monday, May 17th and lost to Ardfert 1-6 to 2-6 on Friday, May 21st.  Scorers v Duagh: Kevin Kennelly (0-5), Ian McCarthy (1-1), Oliver Carmody (1-0), Niall Sheehan (0-2) and Jackie Mulvihill (0-1). Scorers v Ardfert: Kevin Kennelly (1-0), Ian McCarthy (0-2), Oliver Carmody (0-2), Timmy Kennelly (0-1) and Niall Mulvihill (0-1).
Seniors: Moyvane are away to Brosna in Round 5 of the County League on Saturday, May 29th at 7:30pm.
U14: Congratulations to Aidan Enright and Joe Coulson on being selected on the Feale Rangers U14 Panel from all in Moyvane GAA.
Munster Football Championship Semi-Final: Anyone wishing to book tickets for Kerry v Cork should do so as soon as possible from Club Secretary Micheál Walsh on 087-9817883.
GAA Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s Jackpot of €2,200. Numbers drawn were 1   4   9   24.  Lucky Dips: €40 each Denise Shine, Cahirdown, Jacko, Moyvane, Eileen Kennelly, Kilbaha, Siobhan Fealy c/o Listowel CU and Mary Hanrahan, All Star Bar.  Next week’s Jackpot is €2,400 and the draw will be held in Hanrahan’s Bar.

Development Association/Tidy Towns:
The Development/Tidy Towns committee will have another Village clean up on next Wednesday, June 2nd at 7.30pm. As June and July are adjudication months a special effort is needed this time around. Please come and support, the weather is beautiful and you can benefit from a little bit of fresh air and at the same time improve the area we live in.   

Queen of May Procession:
The annual Queen of the May procession will take place in Knockanure Church on Sunday, May 23rd at 3pm. Guest Speaker, Fr. Broderick.

Aerobics Classes:
Aerobic classes will commence in Knockanure Community Centre on Wednesday, June 9th at 8pm. For details contact Maggie at 087 9866533.

Moyvane Pre-School:

Some free ECCE places are still available for September 2010, morning session only, 9.30am to 12.30pm. Contact Katie Fitzgerald at 087 6492097. 

Bank Holiday Hooley:
Eddie Carey, the Newcastlewest country and Irish star, will be the special guest at the first of WL102fm’s Annual Summer Hooleys. He will join the Manchester based Country and Irish band, Finian’s Rainbow with lead singer, Wicklow man, Pat Jordan for a great night of music and dancing. It is all taking place on Saturday, June 5th in the Devon Inn Hotel. Doors open 9pm. Tickets €10.
