Moyvane

Moyvane Notes – 26th November, 2008

Niall Mellon Foundation:
This Friday over 2,000 volunteers leave for South Africa to help build 250 houses for the people who live in shacks in the townships. One of those travelling is our own Kevin Greaney. This is Kevin’s second time volunteering. He will spend a week working and helping to bring a new life to the locals who live in appalling conditions. To make this possible Kevin has to raise €5,000 and in the current climate that is not easy so if you feel you would like to help, any donation, no matter how small, would be appreciated. You all know where Kevin lives or you can drop it to Bingo in the Marian Hall this Thursday night where we will be putting a few bob together and it will be passed on. Last time Kevin was out there the one and only Chris Ewbank was on his team so good luck Kevin, keep up the good work and knowing you, you will bring a smile to many a face under the sunny South African sky. I’m sure you will look just gorgeous in your pink teeshirt, especially with your hair!

Senior Citizens:
Christmas dinner and party will be held in the Marian Hall on Sunday, December 7. Mass will be at 1p.m. followed by dinner and lots of entertainment and dancing to Stevie Donegan. Afternoon tea will be served later. To book contact Maureen at 068 49365 or Ita at 068 49134. This is a wonderful opportunity to salute our older generation and give them a day to remember.
