SENIOR BADMINTON:
The curtain has finally come down on the Badminton Season 2013-2014. The Inter County Grade F All Ireland final was played in Baldoyle on Sunday last. Five Moyvane players were on the Kerry team. They defeated Meath, representing Leinster, in the semi-final 5-1. They then played Galway in the final winning the first two games. Galway came back to level 2 all then it went to 4 all so it was all down to the final mixed doubles. Galway won the first set, Kerry levelled, 1 set all and the third went Galway’s way winning that set 21-13, so close, but Kerry players did themselves proud on securing Silver medals. That meant a second All Ireland Silver in two weeks for Carmel Hudson, Jeanelle Griffin, Helen Browne, James Sheehan and James Flaherty. Congrats and well done to them on a fantastic season. All players now take a well earned rest for the summer and will be back refreshed in September P.G. To anyone out there who doesn’t play badminton, consider joining a very successful club starting in September. All levels of ability catered for.
