Marian Hall Blotto:

Murhur National School:
It’s that time of year again. After what can only be called a horrible "Summer" school re-opens next Monday, August 31st.

Tarbert Comprehensive:
Some pupils at Comprehensive School, Tarbert start back on this Friday. These are the dates: Friday, August 28th – First Years, Staff Meeting. Monday, August 31st – First year, LCI. Tuesday, September 1st – First year, Third year, Transition year, LCA1, LCA2, LC1, LC2. Wednesday, September 2nd – All students return to school. Good luck to all you young people starting back to school, I hope you enjoy your time and do well. 


Development Association:
A Development Association meeting will be held next Tuesday night in The Marian Hall at 9pm.

Moyvane GAA:
Results: 
Moyvane were unlucky to lose out to Listowel Emmets by 1 point in the Final of the 2008 U21 North Kerry Championship, played in Ballybunion on Wednesday last.  Emmets had a 3 point lead at the break 1-5 to 1-8 but a very spirited Moyvane performance in the second half saw them narrow the gap to just 1 point.  Final score, Moyvane 2-8, Listowel Emmets 1-12.  Moyvane scorers: Paddy Curtin 0-7, James Noonan 1-0, Kieran Lane 1-0, Kevin Kennelly 0-1.  Congratulations to the team and management on reaching the final.

Fixtures: Moyvane U21’s will play Knocknagoshel/Brosna in Knocknagoshel in the quarter final of the County Club Shield on Tuesday, September 1st at 6:30pm.

GAA Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s draw.  Numbers drawn were 3   7   17 and 27.  Lucky Dips of €40 each, Eileen Cronin, Mail Road Cross, Aileen and Aidan Kennelly, Kilbaha, Pat Shanahan, Aughrim, Moyvane, Paudie Hanrahan, Kilbaha, Cathy Hanrahan, Hill View.  Next weeks jackpot is €2,600 and the draw will be held in Speedy’s Bar.

DVD Launch: The launch of a DVD celebrating the Moyvane U12 boys trip to Croke Park will be held in Brosnan’s Bar on Friday September 4th at 9pm.  DVD’s costing €10 will be on sale on the night.  The winner of Moyvane Coiste na nOg/Moyvane Ladies GAA “Guess the Score of Kerry v Meath” will be announced on the night.

 

 

Knockanure GAA Lotto:

Knockanure Tidy Towns:

The Knockanure tidy towns committee would like to thank everyone who contributed to their fund raising efforts over the weekend.

 

The Valley of Knockanure:
A film and documentary based on the happenings at Gortagleanna 88 years ago and shot locally by Ger Barrett will be shown in the Tintean Theatre, Ballybunion this Friday night at 8pm. Admission €10.
