THE parish of Moyvane/Knockanure will hold a pilgrimage this Sunday at 1.30pm.
Parish Pilgrims will walk from Knockanure Old Church, stopping for prayers outside the Church of Corpus Christi, Knockanure and Ahavoher Cemetery. Pilgrims will continue to walk until turning left at the Cross at Moyvane South directly across from Kennelly’s House. Pilgrims will continue to walk to Murhur Cemetery where prayers will also be said. Pilgrims will then continue to the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane concluding with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
The pilgrimage will involve a journey of six miles. Elderly people will join, it is hoped to walk short distances, suitable to their physical fitness, otherwise they will be making a welcome participation in their cars.
Everyone is welcome to take part in the pilgrimage.

Moyvane 2000 June draw, June 3, in the Marian Hall. Top prize A Volkswagen Polo or £8,000. A member of the committee will be in the Marian Hall on Saturday night and Sunday morning after Masses to collect subscriptions.
Moyvane seniors were defeated by Currow in the Millennium Cup on Saturday night in Moyvane. This was a very good game with Moyvane still leading by a point deep in injury time. However Currow got through for the vital goal to win on a score of Currow 1-13, to Moyvane 1-11.
Moyvane under-12 lost to Beale in the county league on Sunday last. This was a very good game and the closeness in the scoring made it very interesting. Moyvane scored a late goal from Ivan O’Brien but Beale held on to win on a score of Beale 0-9 to Moyvane 1-4.
Moyvane under-14 play Asdee in Moyvane on Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
