MINOR COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP North Kerry Rangers played Mid Kerry in Beaufort on Saturday last. Moyvane was well represented on the team with Luke Mansfield, Conor Sweeney, Jack O’Keeffe, Jerh Brosnan & Rian Quinn. Oisin Kennelly, Patrick O’Connor & Jamie Moloney also got a run. Full back, Eddie Healy of Listowel scored a cracker of a goal to put the locals in ahead in the second half. They added a few more points but Mid Kerry scored a goal late on and went on to win by 2 points. Final score Mid Kerry 1-11, North Kerry Rangers 1-09. Their next outing is against Laune Rangers. Better luck next time.

COMMUNITY GAMES At last we have something to celebrate. Congratulations to two young people who did themselves proud in last weekend’s All Ireland Community Games finals in Carlow. Conor Mulvihill, Aughrim (son of Neilus & Mary) finished second in the 100m boys under 10 and Mollie O’Riordan, The Bally Road (daughter of Shane & Rochelle) who finished fourth in the under 16 Girls High Jump. Conor is not a member of any Athletic Club so this is some achievement. Well done to both of you, keep up the good work and enjoy your success. Thank you to the families who organised the local athletics and who look after the girls and boys to County Community Games and to Munster Games.
