YOUTH

KYDS, Youth Services in Kerry Diocese, in association with Kerry Group PLC, are appealing for support for a major fundraising draw to ensure that young people in every part of the Diocese of Kerry will have access to youth services and programmes not only now but well into the future. More services and facilities are necessary if young people are to be given real options to avoid the pitfalls facing them in an increasingly pressured Irish society.The Prize Fund is as follows: 1st €10,000, 2nd €2,000, 3rd €1,000, 4th €500 voucher for Kielys Electrical and 5th, weekend at any Great Southern Hotel. Tickets are on sale now at €10 each. Draw takes place on April 29. For more information contact KYDS at 064 31748.

The Listowel Youth Centre is holding a fund raising table quiz at Mike ‘The Pie’ O’Connor’s, Listowel this Thursday starting at 9.00pm sharp. The entry fee is €20 per table of 4.

TABLE QUIZ

The Parents Council of Moyvane National School is holding a Table Quiz in Brosnan’s Bar on Friday night at 8.30pm, in aid of school funds. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Everyone welcome.

COLLECTION

The North Kerry Branch of the Wheelchair Association thanks the people of Moyvane and Knockanure who contributed so generously to their Recent Church Gate Collection and to those who helped with the collection which came to €485.80. Mass will be offered for their intentions.

ALZHEIMERS

The North Kerry Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland will hold a public meeting on Alzheimer’s / Dementia this Thursday in St John’s Pastoral Centre, Tralee at 8.00pm. Guest speakers areDr. Richard Liston, Consultant Geriatrician, T.T.H., Pauline Dobbins, Carer and Kathleen Herlihy, Home Care Co-Ordinator. The A.G.M. will follow this meeting.

PUBLIC MEETING

A meeting of the concerned residents of Moyvane is due to be held in the Marian Hall this Wednesday at 8.30pm.

Elizabeth Mulvihill, Aughrim mourns the death of her mother Maureen late of Ballybunion and Tralee.

GAA

Moyvane defeated Emmets in the third round of the North Kerry league on Sunday. This was a great win for our lads and they are still unbeaten in this league. Next Sunday they play Ballylongford at 2.00pm.

Calenders are on sale by the players and in the shops and pubs at €10 each. Proceeds to the players’ holiday fund. Club registration will take place this Sunday in the dressing rooms at 12.00noon. It is very important to for all players from U10 to U16 to register properly as they cannot play without signing on. Cost will be €5 per player or €10 for a family.

A meeting of Moyvane I.C.A. will take place next Tuesday night in the Marian Hall at 8.00pm sharp.
