Moyvane Development Association:
The Public Meeting planned for organising an event to celebrate “The Gathering Ireland 2013” has been rescheduled for 9pm on Tuesday, February 5th in the Marian Hall. It is proposed that this event would take place in conjunction with the Moyvane Village Festival on the October Bank Holiday weekend. Representatives from all Clubs and Organisations within the parish, as well as any individuals interested, are invited to attend this meeting. All ideas welcome.
Senior Badminton:
Division 1, 3 & 5 Singles Championships were played in Killarney on Sunday and Moyvane players captured two titles. Dermot Keane won Division 3 and Jamie Elliott won Division 5. Michelle Corridan won the Division 5 Plate, a great start to the Championship season. League: The Division 5s played their first Mixed League match of the season in Listowel on Tuesday last and were 6-1 victors. Team was Michelle Corridan, Suzanne Keane, Charlotte Fitzgerald, Eileen Roche, Jamie Elliott, Timmy O’Flaherty, Oliver (Jap) Carmody and Micheal Nolan.

Listowel Rambling House:
Listowel Rambling House will take place in the Seanchaí Literary & Cultural Centre, The Square, Listowel on Friday February 1st from 9.30 pm. A great evening of traditional music, song & dance by local performers in an informal setting is guaranteed. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. For more information tel. U21 NKC ’12 SEMI FINAL: Moyvane/Tarbert/Clounmacon take on Listowel Emmets in the U21 North Kerry Championship Semi Final on Sunday, February 3rd in Ballylongford at 2pm. Extra Time will be played if needed.
Social: A large crowd attended the Moyvane GAA Social in the Listowel Arms Hotel on Friday last. North Kerry Board Chairman Billy Enright presented medals to the Junior Team and Kerry Legend Eoin ‘Bomber’ Liston gave out presentations to the Senior Team of 1982/83. Club Chairman Johnny Stack made a special presentation to Martin Kennelly who is Treasurer in the club for the past 30 years. Entertainment on the night was provided by the Moyvane Scór na nÓg Ballad Group, Terminal Two and D.J Niall ‘Botty’ O’ Callaghan. Moyvane GAA would like to sincerely thank Kevin and Patrice and the staff of the Listowel Arms Hotel, our sponsors, supporters, players, everyone who attended on the night and all who helped to make this night possible.
Scór Encore: On Thursday last, the Moyvane Scor na nOg Ballad Group, along with their supporters travelled to the RTE Studio in Dublin where the group performed in the new TG4 programme Scor Encore. The girls, Amiee Lindsell, Margaret Mulvihill, Lisa Mulvihill, Laura Stack and Lisa Stackpoole gave a great performance and received very good comments from the panel of judges. The programme will be aired on TG4, from the end of February. The date of the girls televised show will be confirmed at a later date so be sure to tune in and see how they got on.
Membership: Club membership is now open at €40 for players and €20 for non-players. Membership can be paid to any committee member. Membership will close for 2013 on Friday, March 22nd, as members must be officially registered with Croke Park.
McGrath Cup: Congratulations to Moyvane’s Patrick Curtin who played on the victorious Kerry senior team in the McGrath Cup Final against Tipperary.

Ladies Football: Unwanted clothes collection will take place on Thursday,, February 28th between 12 and 4pm at the Community Centre Moyvane. Bags can also be dropped off on Wednesday, January 27th between 6pm – 8 pm.All unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags, curtains, etc. accepted (no duvets/pillows). It’s time to Spring clean again, leave as many bags as you can. All funds raised will go towards running Moyvane Ladies Football Club.
