Moyvane Notes – 29th January, 2006

 

A Committee meeting will take place in the Marion Hall on Tuesday, the 7th of February at 9pm. Work is in progress with the Lime Kiln and will be a very welcome extension to our highly prized Wood Walk

 

Athea district credit union regretfully wish to inform our moyvane members the office will not reopening.jim fitzgearld of the the moyvane credit union will now be available in the athea office on Tuesday night.we regret any in convenience this may cause but we can assure all moyvane patrons their continued support at athea office will be much appreciated.

 

The Annual Parish Retreat will be take place at the Ardfert Retreat Centre on Sunday 19th February from 10am</st1:time> to 5pm</st1:time>.  For further details and booking, please contact Julia Stack (49401), Noreen Brosnan (49352), or Bridie Shine (49103). </o

 

In association with Childline Murhur N. S. has a recycling facility to dispose of your old unwanted mobile phones (not chargers) and ink cartridge (not Epson or ribbon cartridges).  Drop them into the Recycling box in the school office 9.30 12.30pm

 

Badminton.
The div. 4 Ladies defeated Kingdom 6-0 in Moyvane on Wed. last team was
Olive Keane, Carolanne Warrilow,Mgt. O’Donnell & Lisa Purcell.
The div. Men defeated Dingle 4-2 in Dingleon Thurs. this teamwas Christopher
McCarthy, Dermot Keane, Donal Enright & John McCarthy.
Donal Enright won the div. 4 plate in Tralee on Sun. last.
Congrats. to all.

Schools Badminton.
The Kerry Schools competition for Girls was played in the Presentation Gym.
Tralee on Mon. last and a number of Moyvane players featured. Tarbert u14
won and had Eileen McCarthy, Denise Flaherty and Denise Collins, their u16s
were also winners and had Aishling Flaherty and Michelle Corridan.The u19s
were r/u and had Mgt. A. Flaherty and Siobhan Hanrahan. The winning teams
will represent Kerry at the Munster Finals in U.L. on Feb. 9th.
Juvenile Badminton
The Boys and Girls doubles Championships were held in Tralee on Sat. 170
players from all over the County competed and Winners and finalists from
Moyvane were, Girls U12 Finalist was Aileen Kennelly,
U14 Finalist was Elaine Hudson.
Boys U12 was an all Moyvane final which saw Con Mulvihill & Aidan Kennelly
defeat Timothy Noonan & Kieran Flavin. Aishling Flaherty,Denise Collins,
Gerdi Mulvihill,P.J. Reynolds,Paul Kennelly, Diarmuid Kennelly and Kevin
Kennelly all got to the semi-finals. Well played everyone.

 

 

MOYVANE  GAA NOTES

 

 

CLUB DRAW    The      Moyvane G.A.A. club are embarking on a huge development draw to finish off the tremendous work done to our field and facilities.   We are very proud of the achievement to date and with your great support we hope to carry on to complete the development.    We have two cars as well as big cash prizes on offer.    Tickets and information from Teddy Keane at 068 49964 or 086 8609740, or from any committee member.     Brochures are also available from committee members.  We are now starting get out and sell so within the next few weeks we will be calling on you and we hope that again you will support our effort and help us complete the development.

SENIORS    Moyvane start their North Kerry league campaign on Sun. next with a game against Emmets in Moyvane at 2pm.   This is a big test for our lads so lets hope they can get off to a good start.

 

A.G.M.   The A.G.M. of the Moyvane G.A.A. club will be held on Fri. night Feb. 3rd    in the Marian Hall at 8pm.  All members are asked to attend and new members would be very welcome.
