ICA

FRIENDS of Moyvane ICA are invited to join members past and present at a function to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the guild. Tickets €25 are available. At the recent AGM of Moyvane ICA the following officers were elected: chairperson Noreen Roche; secretary Mary Lynch; and joint treasurers Marie Walsh and Eileen Roche.



BOOK

Place Names of North Kerry by Dan Keane will be launched in the Marian Hall on Saturday next May 29 after 8pm Mass.



VTOS

Listowel VTOS is hosting an open information day at Listowel Community College on Thursday June 3 10am-1pm. The VTOS Programme is for adult learners wishing to return to full time education in a relaxed adult environment. For information contact Rena Liston at 068-21023

MEETING

A meeting of the Moyvane Development Association will be held in the Marian Hall on Tuesday next June 1 at 9pm. All members are asked to attend.



GAA

Seniors: Moyvane play Desmonds in the semi-final of the North Kerry league, Friday in Ballylongford at 7.30pm. Juniors: Moyvane have qualified for the semi-final of the North Kerry league. They had a narrow victory over Lispole in the Urban league on Friday night last, 1-10 to 1-9. Next week they are due to play Clounmacon.

Well done to Moyvane players Jackie Mulvihill ,Eddie Bowler ,and John Mulvihill on being selected on the Kerry Junior panel for the game last Sunday against Clare. Jackie started on the team and Eddie turned the real hero on the day when introduced in the second half he scored two goals and a point to clinch victory for his county.

They now go forward to meet Cork in the semi-final in three weeks time. Best of luck to all the players. Also well done to Jack O’Connor for the senior victory and lets hope he can go all the way with this fine panel.



DEATH

The death took place recently of Margaret (Peggy) Collins (nee Galvin) Glin Road, Moyvane at Tralee General Hospital, beloved wife of the late John. She was in her early eighties. Her remains were removed to Moyvane Church on Saturday last, she was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following requiem Mass on Sunday last. She is survived by her sons Paddy, Michael, Jimmy, and John daughters Kathleen, Mary and Maudie, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nephew, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
