MOYVANE seniors played a draw with St. Senan’s in the final round of the county league on Saturday. This was a good workout for both sides with the North Kerry championship just round the corner. Final score was 0 – 8 each.
The juniors play Brosna in the semi-final of the championship on Sunday in Ballybunion at 1.30 p.m.
It is intended to run the Race night this Thursday night.
Moyvane U-21 play Beale in the first round of the championship on Sunday, October 14, in Listowel at 1.30 p.m.
Under 12, Moyvane defeated Beale in Asdee on Sunday morning last in the North Kerry Championship. This was a great win for them and they are playing again next Sunday at 12 o’clock. Players should check with Paddy Leahy for definite fixture.
There was no winner of the £2,300 Jackpot in last Thursday night’s draw. The winning numbers were 4, 10, 12, 17. An unbelievable number of people matched three numbers, 14 in all and won £20 each for their trouble. Thursday night’s Jackpot will be at £2,400 and the draw will be held in Brosnan’s bar.
Iain Kennelly, Leitrim Middle, Moyvane won first prize of two tickets for each day of the races plus £100 spending money. Second and third prizes of one ticket for each day were won by Fergal Meade, c/o The Lantern’s. Tarbert and Cara Trant, Lisanearla, Tralee.
Senior badminton club opened on Monday, September 17.
Kerry Lupus support group thanked the people of the parish for their kind contribution in last week-ends church gate collection.
Ceili and set-dancing classes will recommence in the Marian Hall, Moyvane, on Wednesday, October 3, at 8 p.m., beginners and 8.30 p.m., beginners and advanced.
