There was no winner of last Thursday night’s Jackpot so it now goes up to €17,000, by far the biggest Jackpot ever. MOYVANE SENIOR BADMINTON
On Wednesday last the Division 4 mixed team defeated Kingdom 5-2. The team was Denise Collins, Krystle Crowley, Michelle Corridan, Eileen McCarthy, Jamie Elliot, Felix Reali, Padraig Kearney and John Newman. Munster Brewster Cup was  played in Killarney on Sunday and Cork proved too strong for the Kerry team, winning 5-4 in the final so Kerry had to settle for Silver medals. Moyvane players on the team were Elaine Hudson and Michael J. O’Connor.
 
TAKE A BOW
Congratulations to the pupils from Murhur N.S. who all gave wonderful performances in the North Kerry Scór na bPáisti Final last Sunday.  Along with four first places and two second places, the Moyvane Group were named “Overall Best Club” in the competition and the Shield was accepted by Club Scór Officer Tara Mulvihill.  A special word of thanks to Principal Mary Madden who gave access to the school and organised the pupils costumes and to the parents who brought the children to and from pratice.  Well done to all.  Best of luck to all who will compete in Knocknagoshel on Sunday, March 8th. 
 
MOYVANE ICA
Moyvane ICA will hold a Healthy Eating Demonstration with Sid on Tuesday, March 10th at 7.30pm sharp at the Marian Hall.  Admission is free. Raffle on the night. There will be an ICA meeting before the demonstration.
 
FISH
Fresh fish is now on sale every Thursday in Moyvane between 9am and 12.30pm outside the Post Office.
 
AFTERNOON TEA DANCE  
Mike’s Solo Band will perform at the monthly Afternoon Tea Dance in Fr. Casey’s, Abbeyfeale on Sunday, March 8th.  Dancing from 3pm-6pm. Teas served.  Raffle.  Admission €5.  This is a fundraiser for Abbeyfeale’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
 
TABLE QUIZ
A fundraiser for Abbeyfeale’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place at Cryle View Bar, Church St. (recently taken over by J. D. Harnett) on Friday, March 13th at 9pm. Tables of 4 will cost €20. Your support to help keep our Parade going will be greatly appreciated.
 
PAMPERING DAY AT THE DEVON INN
The very successful second annual pampering day is booked for the Devon Inn on Sunday, March 22nd from 3pm-6pm and will make a wonderful gift idea for Mother’s Day and birthdays. Demonstrations on hair and makeup, mother and daughter photo booth and a fashion show are among some of the events planned for the afternoon. Christina O’Gorman of St. Patrick’s Terrace, Tarbert died unexpectedly during the week. Sympathy is extended to her son, Eddie and the O’Gorman Family.
