MOYVANE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Despite the enormous amount of digging and drilling that is going on in the parish, the village is still operating. There may be pockets of disruption but at this point, with communication and cooperation everybody is singing off the same hymnsheet. Please support your local businesses.

TRAFFIC DISRUPTION
This update was issued by Murphy GMC on Friday of last week.

  • L1021 (Moyvane to Anamoy Bridge). Road closure from September 28th  to October 6th. Road open in evenings and at weekends. Local access facilitated + diversion in place.
  • L1015 (Glen road out of Moyvane) Road closure until October 20th. Local access facilitated and diversion in place. Road closure is 24hrs currently but may change if site conditions allow.
  • L1020 (Ahavoher Graveyard to N69 junction at Skehanierin. Coilagurteen Road). Road closure until December 15th. Road open at night and at weekends. Local access facilitated + diversion in place.

We expect pipelaying works within Moyvane to have a duration of 6 weeks and traffic management will be via a traffic light controlled shuttle system. The works will include 4no directional drills which will minimise the excavation within the village. There are no planned outages during these works. We appreciate your forbearance during these works and Murphy/GMC will endeavour to minimise disruption to local residents during these works.

VILLAGE FESTIVAL NO 25
The 25th Village Festival will take place over the October Bank Holiday weekend…including a Rambling House in the Marian Hall, the 14th Boro Buffet which will be held this year in the Community Centre, but not the Community Centre as you see it every day. All parents, coaches and managers who would like to get involved at any level are invited to attend an open meeting in the Marian Hall on Monday night, October 9th at 8pm. This year Boys Badminton, u10 mixed GAA, and u15 Futsal  were all bronze medallists in Kerry. The u13 Girls Indoor Soccer team and u8 Sprinter won Gold in Kerry and represented the club in the National Finals in Dublin. More coaches and managers are needed to maintain this success, parents are invited to become involved also. There are many other activities that your children could compete in such as art, handwriting, singing and music, swimming and there’s an u14 quiz but it needs adults to help organize things.
