Moyvane Notes – 3rd February, 2001

MOYVANE/Knockanure Community games: The following events will be held during the month of February, adult quiz, February 9, in Listowel. Badminton, February 24 in Causeway. Set dancing U-14, February 16, in Kilcummin U-10, 12, 14. Draughts February 11 in Firies Parish Hall.

ICA, a talk and demonstration on Aromatherapy will be held in the Marian Hall on Tuesday, February 6 at 8 p.m., open to non ICA members.

Computer classes will start in the Marian Hall shortly, anyone interested should contact Noreen McEvoy 068 49151.

The AGM of the Moyvane GAA was held on Friday night last in the Marian Hall. The meeting was very well attended and a lot of discussion went on. Officers elected for the coming year were: chairman Paddy Mulvihill; vice chairman Tomas Keane; secretary Teddy Keane; assistant secretary Michael Walsh; joint treasurers Martin Kennelly and Eddie Joe Mulvihill; PRO Teddy Keane; County Board delegate Eddie Joe Mulvihill. A meeting of the club will take place on Saturday night in the Marian Hall at 8.30 p.m. sharp.

Moyvane Seniors are down to play Kenmare in Kenmare on Sunday at 2.30 p.m. Players are asked to check posters for definite fixture.

Moyvane Under 13 had a good win over Duagh in the North Kerry championship on Sunday last. Final score, Moyvane 5 – 8, Duagh 2 – 4. Next Sunday they are playing Beale in Ballybunion at 12 noon. Bus leaving the corner at 11.15 sharp.

Moyvane GAA Social will be held on Friday night, February 9, in the Lanterns. Tickets are on sale from any member of the committee at £14 each.

Moyvane are playing Beale in the North Kerry championship on Sunday in Ballylongford at 2 p.m. All players are asked to be there in good time. Check posters for clarification.

Jeremiah Galvin and Michael “Miko” Fitzmaurice have died. Both played for Moyvane in their day.

The development meeting AGM will take place, Monday, February 12 at 9 o’clock.
