Moyvane Notes – 3rd November, 2001

WEST Limerick set-dancing Club will hold a set-ceili in Convent Hall, Abbeyfeale, on Sunday, November 4, at 4 p.m. Music by Matt Cunningham, all sets called.

There was no winner of the £2,800 jackpot last Thursday night. The numbers were 4, 16, 20, 25. There were four match three’s and they won £25 each. They were Peg Brouder, Kilbaha; Tim Keane, Clounbrane; Mary Hennessey, Glin and Brian Stack, Church Road. This Thursday night’s Jackpot is £2,900 and the draw will be held at Bingo in the Marian Hall.

Moyvane are playing Ballylongford in the North Kerry championship on Sunday next in Ballybunion at 3 p.m. This is the game we have been waiting for so now it’s up to our lads to go out and produce the goods. Ballylongford are a very experienced championship side and always do well but we have a good record against them and lets hope we can keep it going. Best of luck to the lads on Sunday. The game will be preceded by the Emmets/Tarbert replay.

The Village festival had been a great success helped by the glorious weather. The association are most grateful to all our sponsors, helpers, workers. The final of our pub quiz will be held at Mairead’s this Friday night.

On Tuesday, November 13, at 8 p.m., there will be an information evening on the work of Kerry Travellers Project by Kathy and Vincent, in the presentation family centre. The aim is to explore our own prejudices in relation to different cultures. Everyone welcome.

Interested in your health and well being? Then come along to Presentation Family Centre Listowel on Saturday, November 17, 3 to 6 p.m. Take part in two workshops on Reflexology and Gaia. The afternoon will be facilitated by Kay McDonnell and Catherine Quinlivan. Numbers are limited. Contribution £3 including refreshments.

The Annual General Meeting of the presentation family centre Ltd., Listowel will take place at the Centre on Monday, November 26, at 8 p.m. All members are requested to attend. Other interested persons are also welcome.

The AGM of the local branch of Comhaltas will be held in the Marian Hall on next Monday night at 8 p.m. All are welcome.
