Marian Hall Blotto:

Marian Hall:
Please note that the Marian Hall will be closed completely for the week of Listowel Races, that is the week beginning Monday, September 17th. It will reopen again on Monday, September 24th. The committee would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Moyvane Development/Tidy Towns:
A copy of the Moyvane Village Draft Plan is on display in Mike Kennelly’s old shop window in the centre of the village for public viewing and comment. Comments and suggestions can be forwarded, in writing, to any committee member or placed in the Suggestion Box which is located in Stack’s Butcher Shop. A copy of the plan will be available on www.moyvane.com. A meeting will be held before a final decision will be made on this plan.

Active Retirement Day:
The next social day for the active retired takes place on Monday, September 10th. New members would be especially welcome.  Come and enjoy a nice relaxing meal followed by music and dance with Stevie Donegan. Knockanure Community Centre:
Information Officer. An Information Officer will attend Knockanure Community Centre on Monday, September 10th between 1pm and 3.30pm. for anyone who would like assistance with application forms eg. Medical Cards, Farm Assist, Rural Social Scheme, Back to School Grants etc… This is a FREE and Confidential Service. For more information please contact the centre on 068 49799.

Irish Night:
Knockanure Community Alert are holding an Oiche Cheoil at Flynn’s Bar on next Friday night September 7th.  A great night of music song and craic is assured.  Music by local musicians and singers.  All welcome.  Spot prizes galore and a door prize.

Dancing Classes:
Timmy Woulfe’s dancing classes for beginners starting Monday, September 3rd at 8pm in the Marian Hall, Moyvane.

Listowel Race Week Accomodation:
If you have rooms to let for Race Week in the Listowel area, please contact the Office on 068 23036/23037. There is also a big demand for houses to rent for the week.

ISPCC:
The wish to thank all those who contributed to the Church Gate Collection in Moyvane & Knockanure. We also wish to thank all those who helped with the collection. The total amount collected was €817.73.

Kerry Emigrant Support Services:
The Moyvane/Knockanure Church Gate Collection amounted to €631.46. Thank you most sincerely to all those who contributed so generously to such a worthy cause, also a big thank you to all the collectors. Mile Buiochas.

Ballylongford/Tarbert CCE:
Enrolment night for music classes will be held  on Monday, September 10th from 7pm – 8 pm in St Oliver’s National School, Ballylongford. Teachers will be available. Classes will resume on September 28th for beginners only and for all instruments and all pupils on October 5th.

Moyvane GAA:
Club Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s Jackpot of €8,600.  Numbers drawn were 2   4   9   20. Lucky Dips of €40 each: Tom Murphy, Clounmacon. Paudie Hanrahan, Kilbaha. Tipperary and Damien O’Connell, Moyvane.  Next week’s Jackpot is €8,700 and the draw will be held in Kearney’s Bar on Sunday, September 9th at 10pm.   
Race Night: Moyvane GAA Club will hold their annual video race night in Brosnan’s Bar on Thursday, September 20th at 9:30pm.  Everyone welcome.
Moyvane U14 Girls: Congratulations to the Moyvane u14 girls football team on winning the North Kerry Division 3 League in Moyvane on Sunday, September 02. The girls had beaten Abbeydorney on Thursday August 31, winning by 2-4 to 1-3 in a very exiting game so they headed into the match v Castlegregory with some confidence and had a good win. Well done to all concerned. They now join the u12s and u16s as North Kerry winners for 2012. Team: Lisa Mulvihill, Patrice Galvin, Marie Kennelly, Carol Clancy, Marie Flaherty, Margaret Mulvihill, Aimee Lindse, Rachael Moriart,y Moira O’Flaherty, Lisa Stackpool, Laura Stack, Muirne Wall, Ciara Haugh, Maedbh McEvoy, Siun Walsh, Kathleen Kennedy,  Ciara Hudson, Caoimhe Walsh, Aine Enright and Grainne Stack Mulvihill .

Set Dancing Club:
West Limerick Set Dancing Club ceili in The Devon Inn Abbeyfeale Road Newcastle West on Sun Sept 9th at 4pm. Music by Donie Nolan and Taylors Cross. Teas will be served and everyone is welcome.

Death:
Sympathy is extended to the members of the Healy family on the death of Mary McLoughlin (nee Healy) late of Leitrim East, Moyvane who died in New York on August 27. She was daughter of Patrick Healy and Hannie (Fennell) Healy
