Moyvane Bingo:

Moyvane ICA:
Many thanks to all who contributed to the daffodil collection and to those who bought teas at the Bingo, both in support of the Cancer Society. The money raised was €1,575.
Membership fee is now due for all members.
The ICA will recite the Rosary each Tuesday evening for the month of May at the Grotto in Moyvane at 7.45pm. Everyone is welcome to join in.

Senior Badminton:
In the Division 5 Knockout Cup semi-final, Moyvane played County in Tralee and qualified for the Final by winning 8sets – 6sets. Team was Suzanne Keane, Charlotte Fitzgerald, Celia O’Grady, Eileen Roche, Timmy Flaherty, Timmy Larkin, Liam Corridan and Micheal Nolan. They will play Killarney in the final in Tralee on Wednesday night.
Munster Championships: A few weeks ago Donnacha Moloney won the Munster Singles in Killarney and on Sunday last in UL he won another Munster title when he partnered James Sheehan and won the Munster Doubles Title. I think its the first time a Moyvane player won two Munster Titles so well done Donnacha, and also well done to James on winning his first title, a great achievement.
Saorcha Fitzgerald and Michelle Kearney were second in the Ladies Doubles, Division 4. Michelle Corridan playing with Claire Stack, County were third in their division.
Elaine Hudson representing Cork won Division 4. Congratulations to all, a great day and a great display. Hopefully success will continue when the Division 3 mixed league team play the Munster final in UL on May 7th.
Club members are reminded that The Kerry Badminton social is on Friday May 4th, tickets should be booked immediately.

Under 16s Girls Football:
Congratulations to the u16 girls on winning the North Kerry Division 3 League. The team drew with Annascaul on Tuesday of last week in a very tight, exciting game but Moyvane, having lost no game, were declared outright winners. The trophy was presented to team captain Erin Finucane by Maurice McNamara from the County Board. The team was Emer Galvin, Carol Clancy, Patricia Goulding, Laura Stack, Sinead Holly, Sheila Moore, Marie Flaherty, Katie Wallace, Aine Walsh, Tamara O’Donnell Erin Finucane, Samantha Martin, Moira O’Flaherty, Charlene Mulvihill, Kellie Sheehy, Margaret Mulvihill, Muirne Wall, Patrice Galvin and Rachel Moriarty. Well done to the trainer Maura Walsh.
Fundraiser, all unwanted clothes, shoes, textiles, curtains needed (no duvets/pillows)but everything else. Old mobile phones accepted. Collection date is Thursday May 17th at the Moyvane Community Centre anytime up to 4pm please declutter, we appreciate it.

Coiste na nOg:
The Under 10’s attended the first round of Munster under 10 Blitz on Saturday April 21st in Kilrush Co Clare. Moyvane entered two teams and all had a very enjoyable day out. Moyvane will host the first round of the North Kerry U10 Go-Game Blitz programme on Sunday May 06 at 1pm. Results: U-12’s commenced their County League by winning at home to Tarbert and losing away to Bally-Asdee. Away to Ballydonoghue on Sunday, they were beaten by one point on a score line of 0-5 points to 1-3. Under 14’s lost the final round of the Division 6 County League to Castlegregory 3-11 to 4-3. U16’s were beaten at home by St. Senans in Round 6 of the North Kerry Division 2 League. The score was Moyvane 2-07 St. Senans 3-10. Fixtures, U12’s are at home to Beale on Sunday, May 06 at 7pm. Sympathy is offered to the family and friends of Bill Fitzgerald of Lisselton who died recently. Bill gave many years of service as Secretary of North Kerry Coiste Na nOg, he will be missed by all.

Moyvane/Clounmacon:
Moyvane/Clounmacon ladies had a great win over Legion on Saturday evening last in the County Senior Division 4 league. Winning on a score line of 5-08 to 4-10. A very exciting and nail biting game with great performances from the girls throughout. Scores on the day came from Erin Finucane 1-6, Samantha Martin 4-0, Evelyn Stack 0-1 and Ashlea Sheehy 0-1. Congratulations to the girls and management on the success. Keep up the good work!

Benefit:
A céilí will be held in the Marian Hall on next Monday night, May 7th in aid of the Josh Keane, Kilmorna benefit fund. Your support would be appreciated.

Deaths:
The death took place on April 19th of Richard Stack of Clounbrane, Moyvane. Richard is survived by his wife Hannah nee Flaherty, son Richard and daughters Anne, Patricia and Margaret.  Richard spent almost 30 years in England and came back to Ireland in 1981. Requiem Mass for Richard Stack was celebrated in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane by Fr Lucid and burial took place in Ahavoher Cemetery.
Sympathy is extended to Michael Liston, Aughrim on the recent death of his sister Birdie.
The death took place, in Dublin, of Margaret Breslin nee Kennelly formerly of Moyvane & Knockanure. Margaret was daughter of Jerry Kennelly & Mary Shanahan. Sympathy is extended to her family, particularly to her Aunt, Maggie Kennelly of Gurtdromagouna.
