AT the Fleadh Ceoil held in Milltown at the weekend the 12-15 age group and the 15-18 age group in the Ceili Bands qualified for the Munster Fleadh Ceoil. Also qualifying are Don Keane in the newly composed ballads, Tara and Seline Mulvihill and Sharon Buckley in the solo singing and U-14 set dancers all qualified. Bridget McCarthy qualified for the Munster Fleadh in the tin whistle, solo singing, concertina and the piano. Yvonne Enright qualified in the concert flute and Brian Kiely in the fiddle. All these competitors go on for the Munster Fleadh which will be held in Skibbereen, Co. Cork in July.
A chiropodist senior citizen’s will be in the Marian Hall this Saturday between 1.30 and 5 p.m. Ring Eileen Quinn at 49472.
The annual ICA outing will be to Clare on Friday, July 6, bus, lunch and evening meal is £28. Book with Marie Walsh or Eileen Roche. Bus will leave Moyvane at 8 a.m.
Moyvane under 16 are playing Scartaglin in Scartaglin on Monday in the county league at 7.30 p.m. A bus will leave the corner at 6.30 sharp.
Moyvane seniors play Tarbert in the North Kerry league on Saturday night in Moyvane at 8 p.m. They were well defeated by Tarbert last week in the county league.
The Juniors have a free weekend as Beale have pulled out of the urban league.
Moyvane under 14 are qualified for the final of the North Kerry league which is being played on Saturday in Tarbert against the winners of Ballylongford and Asdee at 5 p.m.
The U-12 play Kenmare in Moyvane on Sunday night at 7 p.m. in the County league. All players are asked to be in the dressing rooms at 6.45 sharp. On Wednesday night they are playing Tarbert in the North Kerry league at 7 p.m.
