Scór na bPáistí: Congratulations to Moyvane’s young competitors who did their parish proud in the Scór na bPáistí County Final, held in the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney on Sunday last. The quiz team of Aine O Connor, Shane Quinn, Kieran Curran and Myra O’ Flaherty took the title with top marks while the Ballad Group of Lisa Mulvihill, Margaret Mulvihill, Laura Stack, Amiee Lindsell and Lisa Mulvihill were runners up in their category. Things went a little pear shaped when the Comedy Sketch of Jack Harrison, Donal Stack, Micheal Collins, Gavin Kennelly, Colin Enright and Dylan Quinn was announced as winners and then had to suffer the disappointment of being recalled and told that, in fact, Listry had won that section. It was little consolation to Moyvane that they won the overall trophy for Best Club. The Siobhan Cotter trophy was presented to Moyvane by Sinead Cotter, Siobhan’s sister. The day was very entertaining and well organised but unfortunately something like this leaves a sour taste and is very upsetting for young people. Once again well done to all the participants, keep the heads up, Moyvane is proud of you.
