Development Association:
The Development Association Commitee wish to extend a big ‘Thank You’ to everyone on the marvellous success of our re-scheduled Village Festival.
  • Friday night saw the Inter-Pub Talent Competition go to Enright’s Bar, who received a Perpetual Trophy.  Congratulations to all involved.
  • Saturday night, our 6th sell-out Boro Buffet took place, with chef Noreen Kennelly once again serving up gourmet delights assisted by the ICA ladies and the junior committee.  The street lighting was provided by Eddie Sheehy and music by Jer Keane.  The Marian Hall decorations, with a very festive theme, was attended to by our Committee, FAS and RSS members.  The Boro Mulled Wine and Fruit Puunch Reception was warmly received on a very cold winters night.  A comedy song was performed by a ‘highly distinguished’ but well know sports star in our midst, Eoin Hand and local actor supreme, Maurice O’ Connell, who nearly brought the house down.  Entertainment on the night was also provided by local talent.
  • Sunday the Vintage Rally took place with exhibits from all over the country, who enjoyed a dry day, away from the floods.  Thanks to all who supported the Donations Bucket for ‘Kerry General Palliative Care Unit’ at this event.  Santa visited the Marian Hall, where kiddies activities took place at the ICA Family Fun Day.  The festival ended with the Rambling House taking place in Brosnan’s Bar with many talented musicians and singers, it was a lively end to a great weekend.
The many festivals over the years have provided funding for the various village projects, thanks to the support of our sponsors, members of the business comunity and village/parish residents.  This year in particular we are deeply grateful for all your support.
