Moyvane Notes – 30th October, 2005

The Moyvane Village festival was a great success with the main event of the weekend was the Queen of the Boro competition which was won by Selina Mulvihill, Keylod Moyvane, she was sponsored by Mairead Kearney’s Bar. The Boro Buffet was a complete sellout on Saturday night. The Annual Kerry Hunt was held on the Bank Holiday Monday .

GAA NOTES


LOTTO The G.A.A. Lotto is now running a few weeks and going very well and again we thank everybody for their help and support.The option of paying for a year in advance is open to everybody at 100 Euro. Contact any committee member.

SENIORS
Moyvane are fixed to play Emmets in Tarbert in the quarter-final of the North Kerry championship on Sat. 12th Nov. The lads are preparing well and a lot of hard training is being put in. It should be a good game as Moyvane have a good record against the Emmets and certainly will make them fight all the way.


JUNIORS
Moyvane are fixed to play Asdee on Sun. 13th Nov. in Ballybunion at 1pm.More details next week.


MINORS
Moyvane play St. Senans in the semi-final of the North Kerry championship on Sun 6th Nov. in Finuge at 3.30pm.We have a nice young team and lets hope they can move into the final. Best of luck to Joseph Curtin and his lads on Sun.

Athea & District Credit Union : Due to the recent robbery and damage to the office of Moyvane Credit Union, the office will remain closed until further notice. West Limerick Set Dancing Ceili will be held in the Convent Hall, Abbeyfeale on Sunday November 6th at 4pm. Music by Murt Cunningham.

Mass of the Angels will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church Tarbert on Friday November 4th at 8pm. All those who have affected by the loss of a child, stillbirth, miscarriage are invited to place a lighted candle on the Altar. Candles will be available on the night. Kathy Quinn will give a presentation on the night.

Presentation Family Centre Ltd Listowel are holding their Annual General Meeting at the Family Centre on Monday November 21st at 7.30pm.

Moyvane ICA : Enjoy a stress free day out on our annual shopping trip to Cork on Wednesday November 30th. Leaving Moyvane at 7.30am. No Driving worries, no parking expense. Just sit back and enjoy. Badminton.
The Badminton season is now well under way. Our first fun tournament was held last week and results were div.4mixed final winners were Mgt. A. Flaherty & Christopher McCarthy, Div 5 Ladies winners Denise McEvoy and Eileen Roche, Div . 2 & 3 winners Ml. Corridan and Carmel Hudson.The first Kerry comp. The Handicap Tournament will be on Nov. 20th.Closing date for entries Nov. 17th.

Diocesan Collection next Saturday and Sunday for Irish Church Commissions & Agencies.

Death : The death took place recently of Teresa O’Sullivan (nee Dore) Caheragh Glin and late of Gortdromasillihy, Moyvane. She was 77 years of age. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
