Moyvane Notes – 31st January, 2004

Work has commenced on the first phase of 40 new houses which are to be built in Lower Moyvane, Shines field.

The death took place of Margaret (Peggy) Finucane nee Leahy, late of Clounprohous Moyvane.

She was removed to Listowel church and buried in Listowel Cemetery last Thursday. She was 80 years of age and she is survived by sons Jimmy, Declan, Kenneth, daughters Marie, Bernie, Caramel & Patricia, sitter Kitty, brothers Tim & Mont.

The death has also taken place of Margaret (Maggie) Flaharty, nee Liston, Glenalappa, Moyvane and late of Loughill. Her remains were removed from Moyvane church and buried in Ahhavoher cemetery. She was in her early 80s.

The death has taken place of Paul Stack, Lixnaw and late of Aughrim, Moyvane. He was is his early 70s and was buried in Ahhavoher, Moyvane

A newly formed Listowel Writers Group will meet every Wednesday evening at 8.00pm at the Seanchai Centre, Listowel starting this Wednesday. All budding poets, playwrights and novelists are welcome!!

The A.G.M. of the Moyvane G.A.A. club will take place on Friday, February 27 and the club plans to hold its victory social on Saturday, February 21.

The club asks our sellers to make a big effort to push the blotto sales as the expenses of running a club as big as Moyvane are high.

The North Kerry league is due to start next Friday, February 6. Players are asked to check local posters.

A meeting of Moyvane I.C.A will take place next Tuesday nigh, February 3 in the Marian Hall at 8.00pm.
