Community Games:
Congratulations to the Moyvane/Knockanure u15 badminton team who have qualified for the National Final in Athlone on the weekend of May 26th/27th. They will now represent Kerry in the Finals. The team is Erin Finucane, Laura Stack, Tina Gormley, Moira O’Flaherty, Emer Galvin, Liam Greaney, James Fitzgerald, James Flaherty, Micheal Collins and Brendan Stack, Coaches Denise Collins and Diarmuid Keane. Good to see that badminton is still alive and well in Moyvane. Congrats also to Timmy Flaherty who will represent Kerry at the National Finals in Solo Music, u14.

Moyvane GAA:
Seniors: Moyvane seniors are through to the semi final of the North Kerry League Division 2 after a Round 4 home win against Asdee on Wednesday last on a final score of Moyvane 3-10, Asdee 1-9.  Moyvane Scorers: Mossy Mulvihill 1-3, Diarmuid Leahy 1-1, Kevin Kennelly 1-0, Timmy Noonan 0-3, James Kennelly 0-2, and Aidan Keane 0-1.
Novice Club Championship: Moyvane lost their away game against Scartaglin in Round 1 of the Novice Club Championship on Saturday last. The final score was Moyvane 0-7, Scartaglin 1-9.  Moyvane Scorers: Paddy Curtin 0-6, Timmy Noonan 0-1.

Junior NKL Results:  Moyvane overcame St. Senans in Round 1 of the North Kerry League, Division 3 played in Clounmacon on Monday, March 26.  Moyvane Scorers: Kevin Kennelly 1-5, Paddy Greaney 2-0, John Jack Mulvihill 1-1, P.J Stack 0-2 and Johnny Greaney 0-1.

Working Together Seminar:
A seminar called Working Together To Help Prevent Suicide will be held in the Devon Inn Hotel on Monday, April 23rd at 7.30pm. Speakers on the night will be Dan Neville TD, co founder, President and Director of the Association of Suicidology. Dr. John Connolly, Editor in Chief of Crisis, the official journal of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP). Dermot Troy, Limerick Samaritans Community Supports. The seminar will be chaired by Bernie Carroll, Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention HSE. Admission is FREE and all are welcome. In the current climate this is a very important seminar and anyone that needs help or feels that they can offer help should really try to attend.

Deaths:

The death took place on March 5th of Bridie Flaherty, (nee Sheahan) of Tubbertoureen, Moyvane. Born in 1921 at Ballyguiltenane, Glin she was predeceased by her husband Con. She is survived by her children, Catherine, Eddie, Gerard, Denis, Mary, Michael and Hannah and sister Mrs Mary Donnellan. Requiem Mass for Bridie O Flaherty was celebrated on Wednesday, March 7th in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane by Fr. Eamon Mulvihill assisted by Fr Russell, Fr Crawford and Fr Lucid.
Michael Kissane of Murhur died on March 8th.  He was predeceased by his wife Nellie McElligott of Asdee, brother Fr. Jimmy and sisters Bridie and Mary. He is survived by his sons Michael and Padraig, brother Johnny and sister Eileen. His Requiem Mass was celebrated in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane by Fr. Lucid, Fr. Dillon and Fr O’Connell. Burial took place in St Michael’s Churchyard in Listowel.
The death took place of  Bridie Flavin of Trien, Knockanure following a tragic accident in her home. Bridie is survived by her husband Tom, daughters, Helen Dowling and Mairead Lynch and sons, Pat and Tom, brother Michael and sisters Maureen and Nora. Requiem Mass for Bridie Flavin was celebrated at Knockanure Church on Sunday, March 11th by Fr McMahon assisted by Fr Lucid, Fr O’ Callaghan and Fr Dillon.
Noel Mulvihill MVB MRCVS  died at his home in Castle Road, Glin, on March 17th. He was born in Derry, Listowel. He is survived by his wife Rosita, children, Richella, Niall, Peader, Gavin, Noel, Margaret and Brigeeta, also his sister and brothers. Sincere sympathy to all the families.
