Senior Badminton:
The Division 4 Mixed League team played County (Tralee) at home last week and won 6-1. Team was Louise Behan, Francine Collins, Eleanor Sheehan, Krystle Crowley, Joe Coulson, Padraig Kearney, Diarmuid Fitzmaurice and Timmy Hanrahan. Joe Coulson and Liam Corridan were on the Tarbert Comprehensive U19 team which finished in fourth place in the Munster finals on Thursday last. Well done boys.

Active Retirement Day:
This social day runs every second Monday of each month at Knockanure Community Centre. The next social day for the Active Retirement takes place on Monday, February 11th, 2013. Media Relations:
A six week course entitled "Media Relations and You" will commence at the Listowel Family Resource Centre on February 28th. The course is aimed at community groups/businesses/clubs wanting to learn how to enhance their media relations for their business/group or club. Car Boot Sale and Indoor Market:
The first fundraising car boot sale and indoor market of 2013 for WL102fm will take place on Sunday, February 17th at the Community Centre, NCW from 8am-2pm. Gates open 7.30am. Moyvane GAA:
Membership: Club membership is now open at €40 for players and €20 for non-players. Membership can be paid to any committee member. Membership will close for 2013 on Friday, March 22nd, as members must be officially registered with Croke Park.

Ladies Football: Unwanted clothes collection will take place on Thursday, February 28th between 12 and 4pm at the Community Centre Moyvane. Bags can also be dropped off on Wednesday, January 27th between 6pm and 8pm. All unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags, curtains etc accepted (no duvets /pillows). Deaths:
The death took place on Monday, January 21st, in New York, of Joe Buckley of Main Street, Moyvane. Joe, who was 72, was a regular visitor to Moyvane and is survived by his daughter Kelly O’Boyle and sons Michael, Sean & Ryan, grandchildren Jack & Rylin. At the time of his death he was also survived by his brother Fr. Michael and sister, Marie Lyons, of Ballygoughlin, Glin, but later that week his sister passed away also. Her funeral took place to Glin Parish Church on Monday, January 28th. She is survived by her son, John, daughter Margaret, brother Fr. Michael, daughter in law Anna, son in law John-Paul, grandchildren Jeremiah, Marian, and Seamus.
The parish was shocked last week at the sudden death of Brendan Keane of Clounprohus, a few days before his fiftieth birthday. He is survived by his wife Bridie, daughter Catriona, son David. Brendan was one of seven brothers, sons of the late Kit Dunne & Donie Keane. His surviving brothers are Jerry, Teddy, Mike, Liam, P. J. & Eddie. His funeral Mass was held in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane with burial in Ahavoher. Sympathy is extended to all the families. May they rest in peace.
