Moyvane seniors lost to Tarbert in the county league on Saturday night last. That loss puts Moyvane firmly in the relegation spot and only a miracle can keep us up now. However, if results take funny turns things might still work out. Saturdays game was a very close encounter with only a point or two between the sides all night. Our lads gave their very best but that bit of luck a team needs just would not come our way. Goalkeeper Pascal Sweeney made a brilliant save from a penalty and we thought this might be our game. However, Tarbert kept the pressure on and got the vital scores. Final score Moyvane 0 – 9, Tarbert 0 -10. We turn our attention next week to the replay of the Novice championship game with Beale. That game is on Sunday, October 5, in Ballylongford at 1 p.m. There will be extra time again if needed.
Moyvane under 12 play Ballylongford/Asdee in Knockanure on Sunday. Players are asked to check time with trainers.
Comhaltas: Sharon Buckley’s traditional singing classes are resuming in the Marian Hall on Friday, September 26, at 6 p.m. Set dancing resumes on Wednesday, October 1, for 11 years upwards and on Monday October 6 for the under 11’s.
