Moyvane/Knockanure Community Games:
Moyvane/Knockanure community games AGM will be held in the Marian Hall next Tuesday, October 11th at 8.30pm. The committee needs new members, especially parents of Primary School pupils. Community games caters for children from U8 to U16 in cultural and team events. If you feel you can contribute please come to the meeting.

Premiere:
"Pilgrim Hill" will premiere at the Tintean Theatre in Ballybunion on Friday, October 14th at 8pm. It highlights the life of a bachelor farmer and his struggles in rural Ireland. This is Gerard Barrett’s first full length film following the success of "The Valley of Knockanure". The film was shot in Brosna, Ballylongford and Athea. Host Fr. Pat Moore. Admission €10. Concert:
Ramble in for a night of stories, music and song with Frances Kennedy and the Gleannaphuca ramblers on Friday, October 21st at 8pm in St John’s Theatre, Listowel. Join Frances and Patsy Kennedy for fun and hilarity with stories and yarns from a host of entertainers. Sonny Egan from Lixnaw and Paddy Mc Elligott, Listowel, will be centre stage and in full flight. Retirement Congratulations:
Happy retirement to Sergeant Mike Sheehy who retired from the force after 33 years. He spent the last 8 years as Sergeant in Moyvane. A quiet, unassuming man, he showed kindness and courtesy to everybody. During his time in Moyvane the parish saw some tragic events and he was not found wanting by the families in their time of need. A presentation was made by the members of the Development Association in the Marian Hall last Saturday night, on behalf of the parish. It was attended by the various organisations, GAA, ICA, etc and members of the public who came to show their respect and wish him Good Luck in the future. To Mike and his wife and family, may you enjoy a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Death:
The death took place last week of Mossie Culhane of Leitrim Middle. Mossie who was in his 85th year was a quiet, gentle man and a gentleman. He loved his game of cards in Brosnan’s on a Tuesday night. He spent his early life in Birmingham and came back to live with his late brother, Sean in the 1980’s. Sympathy is extended to his sisters, Mauren, Eileen & Rita, brother Paud and their families.
