Moyvane Notes – 5th August, 2000

MINORS are plying Ballydonoghue in the North Kerry league in Coolard at 8pm.

Under 12’s were beaten by St. Mary’s in the North Kerry league on Sunday. On Thursday night Moyvane play Glenflesk in the last round of the County league. A win would share the title with Glenflesk. All players are asked to be in the dressing room at 6.45pm sharp. We are also playing Ballylongford in Ballylongford on Friday night at 7.30pm. A bus will leave the corner at 7pm.

Under 15’s are playing Finuge in the County U15 championship on Saturday in Moyvane at 3pm. All players should be in the dressing room at 2.45pm sharp.

Under 16’s are due to play Castlegregory in the County league on Monday night at 7.30pm. The game is in Moyvane. Players are asked to be in the dressing room at 7.15pm sharp.

Seniors are due to play Emmets in the semi-final of the North Kerry league next weekend. Players are asked to check local posters for definite fixture.

Juniors qualified for the final of the Urban league after defeating Ballylongford in the semi-final last weekend. They meet Duagh in the final on a date to be arranged.

Blotto: There was no winner of the £2,100 jackpot in last Thursday night’s draw. The winning numbers were: 16, 22, 25 and 27. At £720 it was the biggest payout to date.

The death took place of Liam Lynch, Aughrim. Removal to Moyvane Church. He was buried in Lislaughtin Cemetery following requiem Mass. He is survived by his sisters, brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death took place of Denis Corridon, Murhur. Removal to Moyvane Church. He was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following requiem Mass. He is survived by his wife, son, daughters, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, sister, nephew, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death took place recently of Alice Connell (nee Mulvihill) Athea and late of Glenalappa.

Many people turned out for the annual graveyard Mass at Murhur on Monday night.

Mass at Ahavoher (Galebridge) Cemetery will take place on Monday night August 7 at 8pm.

Alanna Donegan, Tara Mulvihill, Sharon Buckley and Don Keane qualified for the All Ireland in Enniscorthy.

Musicians and singers from the area have taken part in the Munster Fleadh Cheoil.
