Moyvane Development Association:

Pat Leahy is coming to the end of his term of office as Mayor of Kerry. During this time he was most co-operative and helpful to the local association. He allocated his council funds towards many local projects, most recent being tar for the footpath leading to the Lime Kiln. He was available for meetings and functions when requested. Thank you, Pat and good luck in the future. Welcome to the incoming Mayor, Tim Buckley of Knockane. May your term of office be as successful as Pat’s. Don’t forget, Tidy Towns clean up this Wednesday evening at 8pm. You are all welcome. 

 

Moyvane GAA:
Senior Results: Moyvane were beaten by Beale in the North Kerry League Division 2 semi final, played in Tarbert on Saturday last. Final score,  Moyvane 0-6, Beale 2-9.

Fixtures: Moyvane minors are away to Tarbert in Round 2 of the North Kerry League on Thursday, July 7th at 7:30pm.  Moyvane Juniors play their County League semi final on Friday, July 8th against Ballydonoghue.  Please check fixture posters for time and venue.
GAA Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s Jackpot of €2,200. Numbers drawn were 2   6   10   21.  Lucky Dips €40 each Edward O’Connor, Moyvane, John Nolan, Murhur, Peter Shepherd, Coast Road, Beale East, Tom Walsh & Jimmy Moloney c/o Tanker’s and Liz Reidy, Lisselton. Next week’s Jackpot is €2,400 and the draw will be held in Enright’s Bar on Sunday, July 10th at 10pm.

Car Boot Sale:
The monthly car boot sale and indoor market in aid of West Limerick 102fm will be held at the Community Centre, NCW on Sunday, July 10th. Gates open 7.30am. Sale from 8am-2pm. Further information Marian 087 6866450.

Poultry Fair:
Eoin’s Car Sales, Clash Road, Abbeyfeale, Sunday, July 10th from 9.30am – 2.30pm.

Abbeyfeale Parish Fete:
The  Fete will take place  next Sunday, July 10th in Fr. Casey’s GAA Club from 2pm-6pm. Wheel of fortune, Auction, Bonny Baby Show, Donkey Derby, Dog Show, Stalls, Games etc. etc. People who wish to donate the following items Cakes, Unwanted gifts, Items for Auction, Books etc may drop them off at St Ita’s Hall between 10am to 5pm on Saturday. A person will be there to assist. The Parish Fete Draw will take place at the Fete.

Charity Céilí:
A charity céilí to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society will be held in Fr.Casey’s GAA Hall, Abbeyfeale, Wednesday, August 6th from 9.30pm to 1am.  Music by Striolan Ceili Band. Teas will be served. Spot prizes galore. Contact Teresa at 087 9427259 or Deirdre at 086 1630201.

Deaths:

Sympathy is extended to the family of Joan Enright nee Stack of Glin, Aughrim and Moyvane Village who died last week. She is survived by her son Joe, daughters Batty and Mary, brother Eddie, sister Maudie, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren and extended family. Removal was to Glin Parish Church and burial was in Ahavoher Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
