Moyvane Notes – 5th November, 2008

Moyvane GAA – Senior Results:
Moyvane lost by a point to Cromane in Round 10 of the County League played in Moyvane on Sunday last.  Cromane went in at the break leading by a point 1-6 to 1-5, with goals from Moyvane’s David Moloney and Cromane’s Sean Walsh.  Two points from Paddy Curtin gave Moyvane the lead early in the second half but Cromane scored 3 goals in succession bringing the score to 4-8 to 1-8.  Moyvane rallied and points from Brian Stack, Paddy Curtin and Jackie along with a Cathal O’ Connor goal saw them lose out in a close finish on a final score line of Moyvane 2-13, Cromane 4-8. Junior Fixtures:

Moyvane will play Asdee in the North Kerry Intermediate Championship Final on Sunday November 9th.  Time and Venue of this game have not yet been confirmed so please check the fixture notices around the village

Scór na nOg:
The North Kerry Football Board Final of the competition will be held in Mountcoal on Saturday November 8th at 8:30pm.

Moyvane ICA presented a cheque for €5,000 to the Nano Nagle Summer Camp Committee. This money was the proceeds of this year’s Charity Walk. Do you want to go to Cork to do your Christmas shopping? The annual ICA trip takes place on Wednesday, December 3, leaving at 7am. The Family Fun Day will be held in The Marian Hall on Sunday, November 30 from 2 to 4pm.
Moyvane/Knockanure CCE:
Children and parents of children interested in meeting and playing with other musicians, with a view to starting a local class should come along to the Marian Hall after Mass on Saturday, November 8.  

West Limerick Set Dancing Club:
A céilí will be held on Sunday November 9 at Convent Hall, Abbeyfeale at 4:00pm.  Music by Matt Cunningham, all welcome, teas served.  Sets called if necessary.
Active Retirement Day:
An active retirement day will be held in Knockanure on Monday, November 10. If attending please call 068 49799 between 9.30 and 1.30, Monday to Friday. The Centre is also available for Christenings, Birthdays, Funerals etc. 
Sympathy is extended to the relatives and extended families of the following who died recently:
Noreen Lynch and family of Woodgrove an the death of her mother, Josie, of Glasha, Athea.
The McEvoy Family of Upper Aughrim on the unexpected death of Denny. He is survived by his wife Noreen, sons Johnny & Denis, daughters Sinead, Caterina, Denise & Anna Marie, sisters Peggy & Kitty.
Brendan Sheehy who died recently in England. He was a native of Moyvane and son of Sgt. Sheehy. He was brother to Norma, Glin, Carmel, Vincent & Imelda. Brendan was a handy footballer and played with Moyvane in the sixties. For those of you who are interested you will find a picture on in the GAA section. May they all rest in peace.
