Village Festival:
This year a Small Business Trade Fare/Farmer’s Market will be held in conjunction with the Vintage and Family Fun Day on Sunday, October 23rd. This event is to help promote local business and producers by either advertising their services or products and also to provide them with an opportunity to sell. Display space is FREE, but as space is limited it is essential to book in advance. For booking contact 068 49298 or 087 2733305.

Google Earth:
Google Earth has finally found Moyvane! Click into https://moyvane.com/ and you will find the interactive map of the village on the homepage. You can then navigate your way through the parish and find your own house. This is an incredible piece of technology and was only launched last week. Enjoy.

Creamery Social:
This year’s social will be held in The Listowel Arms Hotel on Friday, November 19th. Tickets are now on sale in the creamery office.


Moyvane GAA:
Senior North Kerry Championship: Moyvane and Ballydonoghue continued the trend of this year’s Championship so far with a draw in their Round 1 clash in Listowel on Sunday last, October 3rd.  It was a low scoring first half with both teams notching up 2 points to go in at the break 0-2 to 0-2. The second half was just as equal with 3 points each leaving the final score 0-5 to 0-5. U21 North Kerry Championship (’09):  Moyvane will play Beale in Ballylongford in the Semi Final of the ’09 U21 North Kerry Championship on Saturday, October 9th at 4pm. 
Scór na nOg: Anyone under 17 years interested in participating in the Scór na nÓg North Kerry Football Board Final on Saturday, November 6th, please contact Moyvane GAA Scór Officer Elaine Scarlett on 087-2884869 as soon as possible. The categories are Figure Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Question Time and Set Dancing.

Shane Healy Fund:
The Shane Healy Fund would like to thank Mairead Walsh of Kearney’s Bar for organizing a benefit night recently. Proceeds of the night came to €830. Thanks to Mairead, the sponsors who gave so generously and especially to the patrons of Kearney’s Bar who supported the event in large numbers. Thanks also to the Board of Management, principal and staff of Moyvane National School who organized a no uniform day and collected €200 for the fund. A special word of thanks to the parents and children for their generosity.


Earth Week:
Earth Week was celebrated last Sunday at Mass in Moyvane. The gifts, fruits of the earth, representing the wonder of creation were brought to the Altar by the First Communion Class and blessed by Fr. Lucid. The Liturgy Group would like to thank the First Communicants for their participation.

North Kerry Eagles:
The North Kerry Eagles Special Olympics Club annual Church gate collection will take place next weekend, Saturday & Sunday, October 9th and 10th. Please support generously.

Knockanure Community Centre:

Next Active Retirement social day will be held on next Monday, October 11th. If you would like to attend please ring the secretary, Mary at 068 49799, 9.30am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday.
