MOYVANE PARENT & TODDLER GROUP
Returns this Wednesday, September 7th from 10am to 12 Midday.  €3 per family.  For children from birth to pre-school age. See you all there for a cuppa and a chat!!

MOYVANE GAA
U8: Well done to our U8s who competed in a blitz last Sunday.
U10: In the Jim Corridan memorial shield in Listowel on Sunday, there were great performances by our lads who were runners up to Abbeyfeale in the A final. It was an exciting final and well contested to the end. Thanks to Listowel for the tournament and food afterwards.
U14: Well done to Moyvane U14s on winning their North Kerry League Div 2 semi-final, beating Bally/Asdee 3-17 to 3-04. The league final between Listowel Emmetts & Moyvane takes place on Tuesday Sept 6th @ 7pm in Ballylongford
U16:Congratulations to Moyvane /Tarbert U16s who won Div 7 of the County League last Thursday in Ballylongford, beating Ballyduff with a score of  4-21 to 3-02. Moyvane/Tarbert started very well building a sizeable lead but Ballyduff struck back with 3 goals before half time to leave it all square .The second half saw a very strong team performance, dominating possession and putting up a high score.

KNOCKANURE COMMUNITY CENTRE
Knockanure Community Centre would like to thank everyone who supported them on their recent cake sale at the Vintage Rally plus all who baked.

NORTH KERRY EAGLES
Following on from the poker run on September 10th a charity fundraising disco with D.J. Punk will be held at Mairead’s Bar in aid of the North Kerry Eagles Special Olympic Club. Refreshments will be served with spot prizes galore on the night. All welcome.

MOYVANE ICA
Moyvane ICA, in conjunction with the Development Association, are planning to bury a Time Capsule in an area adjoining the 1916 Commemoration Stone Plot.  All parish organisations are invited to contribute something for inclusion in this Time Capsule.  We suggest A4 laminated page with written or pictorial information about your organisation, its achievements and aims for the future. A small item which represents the organisation may also be included.  Items for inclusion must be received by September 30th. For more info contact Anne at 086/3456808 or any ICA member.

SENIOR BADMINTON
Senior badminton resumed on this Mon at 8pm.  New players welcome to try the game for two nights before joining club.

ADULT LITERACY AND BASIC EDUCATION SERVICE LISTOWEL
The literary service are looking for volunteers to help people with reading and writing. Training is provided. Please contact Mary Swaine on 068/23866.

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE LISTOWEL
A number of courses will be commencing shortly including Parents Plus, Basic, Intermediate and Benefit 4 computing and computer classes for men.  Also the Alzheimer’s Carers group meeting is on Tuesday, September 13th at 12.30pm.  Further details from the Centre on 068/2358.

ROALD DAHL DAY
Seanchaí – Kerry Writers’ Museum, Listowel will host a special Roald Dahl 100th birthday party on Tuesday, September 13th  from 4.30pm to 6pm.  Children aged 4 to 12 years welcome and admission is free.  For more information visit www.kerrrywritersmuseum.com.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to the following families, Nora Fitzmaurice & Family, Leitrim Middle & Mary Lyons & Family, Derry, Listowel on the death of their brother Donie Cahill, Brosna & Abbeyfeale whose death took place recently. Donie is survived by his wife Freda, sons Don and Anthony, daughters Niamh, Sheena and Oonagh, brothers John, Bill, Paddy and Tom, sisters Nora, Mary, Julia and Kathleen.
To Mary Stack, Glenalappa on the death of her brother-in-law Paddy Lagan, Maghara, Co. Derry.
Michael Carmody of Chapel Street, Tarbert passed away recently after a long illness. Michael was well known in Moyvane. A great supporter of the GAA and greyhound racing sympathy to his wife Nuala and family and to his nephew Diarmuid O’Connor and family who live in Aughrim. Tom Moloney, Woodford, Listowel and late of the UK.passed away recently. He was brother of Mary Buckley (Tony), Keylod.
Sympathy also to Brigitte Hogan & Family, Leitrim Middle on the death of her teenage cousin Shauna Banet, Bornacoola, Co. Leitrim.
The death took place last month of Joe Kearney 72 Mc Eoin Park, Longford Town, Longford. Formerly of Moyvane, Joe is survived by his wife Bridie, daughters Joanne and Breda, son Michael, sons-in-law Michael and Padraic, daughter-in-law Kinia, grandchildren Rebecca, Rachael, Adrianna, Grace, Lucy and Michaela, brother Con (Cork), sister Peggy (USA). Joe’s father was fireman at the creamery and his mother Catherine Mulvihill was from Kilbaha. May they all rest in peace.
