  • Mary Bridget Leahy, Clounbrane (daughter of Mary & Pat Leahy) and Joseph Curtin, Listowel Road (son of Mary & Chas Curtin) were married in The Church Of The Assumption, Moyvane last Friday. Reception was in Kirby’s Lanterns Hotel, Tarbert.
  • Mairead Curran & Niall Murphy were married in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballymacelligott also on Friday. Ballygarry House Hotel was the venue for the reception. Mairead teaches in Murhur National School.
  • On Saturday, Breda Murphy, Lixnaw  & Jonathon Stack, Tarbert were married in Lixnaw with the reception in Ballyroe Hotel. Breda works locally.
Congratulations to all the newlyweds. 
GAA – Minor Results:
Moyvane lost out to Duagh by 1 point in the North Kerry League on Tuesday last on a final score line of Duagh 1-10, Moyvane 2-6.  Moyvane team and scorers: Owen Stack, Paddy Greaney, Conor Leahy, Diarmuid Kennelly, Craig Sheehy, Seamus Lyons, Martin Sheehy, Patrick Finucane, Kevin Kennelly (0-2), James Flavin (0-1), Padraig Keane, Donnacha Woods, Johnny Greaney (2-3).

U21 Fixtures:

Moyvane are away to Beaufort in the County Club Championship Shield on Thursday August 7th at 7:30pm.
JUNIOR FIXTURES: Moyvane are at home to Spa in Round 1 of the McElligott Cup on Friday August 8th at 7:30pm.

Coiste na nOg:
Congratulations to the Moyvane U14 team who overcame Brosna in the North Kerry League Division 2 Final in Duagh on Thursday last.  With a great display in both halves, Moyvane always looked the stronger team and ran out eventual winners on a final score line of Moyvane 5-7, Brosna 2-11.  Moyvane team and scorers: Brendan Galvin, Aidan Enright, Michael Moore, Shane Stack, Ger Dowling, John Finucane, David Winters, Edmund Sweeney, Tomas Quinn (1-2), Timothy Noonan (0-4), Padraig Leahy (1-0), Ryan Sheehan (2-0), PJ Stack (1-1), Subs: Kieran McEnery, Liam Heffernan, Paul Kennelly, Con Mulvihill, Martin Stack.  Congratulations also to team trainers, Dan Stack, Gregory Quinn and Brid Flavin.
Annual Dinner for Priests:
Bishop Bill Murphy extends an invitation to the annual dinner for priests who are at home from abroad which will be held in the Parish Centre, Church of the Resurrection, Park Road, Killarney on Monday August 11 at 6.30pm An invitation is also extended to priests who are retired from abroad and are now living in Ireland. Please contact 064-31168 by Tuesday, August 5 and not later than 12 noon if you wish to attend.

Annual Church Gate Collection:
The Annual Church Gate Collection will be taken up by Kerry Parents and Friends Association on Saturday August 9 and Sunday August 10. Kerry Parents and Friends Association provides Residential, Day and Support Services for 260 adults with an Intellectual Disability in Listowel, Tralee, Killarney, Rathmore, Castleisland and Valentia Island.

Moyvane Charity Walk:
Any outstanding money can be given to Joan Kiely, Sports Officer of the I.C.A. as soon as possible.

Active Retirement Day:
The next ‘Active Retirement Day’ in Knockanure will take place on Monday August 11, 2008. If attending, please ring the office on 068 49799 between the hours of 9.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday.
