Moyvane Notes – 6th February, 2008

West Limerick Set Dancing:
The West Limerick Set Dancing Club are holding a set céilí in the Convent Hall, Abbeyfeale on Sunday 10th February at 4pm. Music by Michéal Sexton and Pat Walsh Céilí Band.

Rain:
4mm of rain fell in the Moyvane area last week.

Old Saying:
What goes around comes around.

Spring Feel:
As the winter slips away and the evenings start to get longer, I notice some trees starting to shoot and daffodils are on the vergoe of opening. I have neer seen the village as clean looking, washed by the winter floods. Its nice to see it looking so well and have it safe for moving around.

Senior Badminton:
Congrats to Marguerite Lynch on winning the Division 3 Ladies Singles Championship played in Tralee on Sunday last.

Juvenile Badminton:
Having won the Kerry Schools, the following Moyvane players will represent Tarbert Comprehensive at the Munster finals in UL on Thursday next – U14: Con Mulvihill, Brian Griffin & Timothy Noonan; U19: Kevin Kennelly; Girls U16: Denise Collins, Eileen McCarthy & Ciara Healy; U19: Breda Lane, Shauna Foley & Michelle Corridan. Best of luck to all.  


Community Games:

After a meeting held in the Marian Hall on Sunday last, Moyvane/Knockanure Community Games was re-formed. The following committee were elected:

U12 Soccer:
Training for anyone interested is taking part in the Community Games soccer will start Friday, 15th February at 6pm in Moyvane Community Center.

GAA – Membership:
Club membership is available at €40 for players and €20 for non-players. Membership can be paid to any committee member.  

Social:
The Moyvane GAA social will be held in Kirby's The Lanterns Hotel on Friday 8th February at 8pm. Music by PJ Murrihy followed by disco. A presentation will be made to Seán Walsh to celebrate his 10years as County Board Chairman. Moyvane senior team will be presented with Novice County Championship medals. The GAA committee hopes a great night will be had by all.

There will be ashes distributed at both masses on Wednesday.
