Moyvane Notes – 6th November, 2004

FIRST

THE footballers of Moyvane NS won the final of Cumann Na Bhunscoil competition for the first time. Team line-up: Robert O’Sullivan, PJ Reynolds, Patrick Greaney, Stephen O’Carroll, James and Timmy Noonan, James Flavin, Martin Sheehy, Kevin Fitzmaurice, Con Mulvihill, Paul Kennelly, Shane Stack, Brendan Galvin, Elaine Hudson, and Aidan Kennelly. Thanks to the U10 trainers for their work during the year, and to the U12 trainers who organised extra training sessions and had the team in tip-top shape for the final. Special praise must go the Teachers Mrs Madden and Parent Br’d Flavin who took over the organising of the team, both on and off the field, as the liaison Officer could provide only limited assistance during the year. Again thanks to everyone involved.



BADMINTON

Senior Badminton tournament results: Div 4&5 Ladies: 1, Eileen Roche and Louise Behan. Div 2&3: 1, Nora Conyard and Marguerite Lynch. Div 4 Men: 1, Christopher McCarthy and Donal Enright. Div 2&3: 1, MJ O’Connor & Niall Shine. Only paid-up members are allowed play. Anyone wishing to join should contact treasurers Carmel Hudson or Julie Fitzmaurice.



COLLECTION

Diocesan Collection next Saturday and Sunday for the Irish Church Commissions and Agencies.



DANCE

West Limerick Set Dancing Club ceil’ will be held in the Convent Hall, Abbeyfeale on Sunday at 4pm. Music by Matt Cunningham. Sets called. Teas served.



COMHALTAS

The AGM of the Moyvane Knockanure CCE takes place on Monday November 8 at 7.45pm in the Marian Hall. All members are asked to attend. New members welcome.



WEDDINGS

The marriage took place on Saturday last of Kathleen Enright, Church Road, and Dermot Lynch, Coolkeragh, Listowel at the Church of the Assumption Moyvane. The reception was held in the Devon Inn Templeglantine.

The marriage took place in Dublin on Saturday last of Michael Brosnan, Church Street, Moyvane and M. Crowley, Castleisland.



GAA

Moyvane Seniors lost to Glenbeigh/Glencar in the County Novice Championship last Sunday. Final score was Moyvane 1-10 to Glenbeigh/Glencar 1-11. Next Saturday, Moyvane play Cromane in the County league in Cromane at 3pm. This is a vital game if Moyvane is to hold out any hope of promotion to Div3.
