Moyvane had a great win over Ballydonoghue in the Novice championship last Saturday. Moyvane started very well and were 1 – 5 to 0 – 2 after 15 minutes the goal coming after a great move up field when the ball ended in Denis Kennelly’s hands and from the edge of the square he gave the goalkeeper no chance with a great shot. Then Ballydonoghue rallied back and by the interval had reduced the arrears to two points 1 – 9 to 1 – 7, their goal coming from a well taken penalty. The second half was a tight affair with points being exchanged all through. Moyvane had moved four points clear when they were hit with another well-taken goal 10 minutes from the end. It was then their mettle was tested and in true style they defended strongly and added two more points before the final whistle to clinch a semi-final place against Beale. Final score Moyvane 1 – 15, Ballydonoghue 2 – 9.

Moyvane under-12’s were very unlucky to lose to Ballydonoghue in the final of the North Kerry league on Wednesday night. They played very well and it was just in the last 10 minutes the stronger Ballydonoghue lads got through for the vital score.

The under-14’s play Finuge in the first round of the championship this Sunday, September 7, in Ballydonoghue at 7 p.m.

Moyvane under-10’s played in a tournament in Ballybunion last week and did very well winning a set of medals. They are playing Ballyhahill in Abbeyfeale on Friday evening. The bus will leave the community centre 6.15 sharp. They will be playing in this tournament for the next four Friday nights.
