The Senior Citizen’s Christmas party was held in the Marian Hall on Sunday last. About one hundred people enjoyed an excellent meal catered for by Denis Doody. Stevie Donegan provided the music and there was plenty of singing and dancing. It was a great occasion for people to meet friends they may not have seen for a while. North Kerry Championship: Moyvane seniors North Kerry Championship semi-final fixed for Sunday last was called off by the North Kerry Board due to weather conditions. The game will now be played next weekend. Check posters in the village for details of this fixture.

Moyvane Senior Badminton:
Having lost their first two matches, the Division 4 men’s team went on to win their last three matches beating Listowel home and away 6-0 and 5-1. They then defeated County 5-1 at home.The team was Christopher McCarthy, Ml. Torley, Billy Lynch, Padraig Kearney and Edward Stack.The Division 4 ladies team of Margaret O’Donnell, Eleanor Sheehan, Saorcha Fitzgerald and Elaine Hudson also defeated County. Division 3 men’s team defeated County 8 sets to 6. The team was Donie Enright, James Sheehan, Donnacha Moloney and Ml. Corridan and Division 3 Ladies defeated Listowel 5-1 The team was Carmel Hudson, Carolanne Warrilow, Elaine Hudson and Saorcha Fitzgerald.
In Tralee on Sunday Donie Enright won the Waterstone Cup Division 3 and Eileen Roche was finalist in Mixed Doubles Shield Division 5.
The County Board Raffle results, First Prize of €400 was won by Treasa Collins, Moyvane, 2nd prize €200 won by Ml. Finucane, Tarbert and third prize €100 won by Tom Hudson, Moyvane. The club’s Annual Invitation Tournament, kindly sponsored by Newtownsandes Co-Op, will be held on Sunday next Dec.13th. Start time is 12 noon with Division 5, Division 4 @ 2pm, Division 3 @ 4.30pm and Division 2 @ 5.30pm.
Knockanure Community Centre:
This is a busy weekend in the Centre starting this Friday night at 8pm with A Gala Christmas Flower Demonstration. Admission FREE.
Saturday night, a Children’s Christmas Concert will be held starting at 8.15pm.
Sunday will be a big day with Santa making his annual visit from 4pm to 6pm. This is a real fun day with face painting, disco and lots of fun for everybody. Vincent Sheehy, formerly of Moyvane Village, died in England during the week. Vincent, who played football with Moyvane, was son of Sgt. & Mrs Sheehy. He is survived by his wife Nadia, sisters Norma, Carmel & Imelda. He was predeceased by his brother Brendan.
