Club AGM: The AGM of Moyvane GAA will take place in the Marian Hall, Moyvane on Friday, January 7th, 2011 at 8pm. The deadline for Executive Committee Nominations is Friday, January 1st, 2011. All nominations have to be with the Secretary (087-9817883) on or before this date.
Minors: Congratulations to the Moyvane Minor team and management on reaching the Division 2 North Kerry Championship Final. Moyvane overcame Asdee/Bally in the semi final on Saturday last on a score line of Moyvane 1-9, Asdee/Bally 0-9. Scór: Well done to Liam Corridan who represented his Club and District Board in the solo singing category of the Scór na nÓg County Final, in the Gleneagle Hotel on Sunday last. Liam gave a great performance of Dingle Bay and although he did not progress to the next round, he did Moyvane proud.
Coiste na nOg Calendar: Moyvane Coiste na nÓg have launched a 2011 calendar in acknowledgement of a very successful year in both youth football and Scór. All of the competing age groups won out their divisions, which is an excellent achievement. The calendar is a collection of team photos from U8’s to U16’s and also contains some memorabilia pictures of past footballers and events of Moyvane G.A.A. All proceeds of this will go the running costs that were accrued during this fantastic year and will help to lay the foundation for another good year ahead for underage football. A special thanks to all of our sponsors for their generosity and support in the current economic climate, it is much appreciated. Míle buíochas also to the many people that helped in the compilation of the calendar. The calendar is on sale in a selection of local shops and businesses in Moyvane and Knockanure at a cost of €10. It is an ideal Christmas stocking filler for loved ones both home and away.
Youth Awards: Moyvane Coiste na nÓg are hosting an Awards Night to celebrate the achievements of all our underage players during the past year. The celebration will take place on Saturday, January 8th, 2011. Further details will follow.

At the mixed Shield Comp. in Tralee on Sunday last Donie Enright was finalist in Division 3. Timmy Noonan won the Division 4 plate and Padraig Kearney was finalist. The Division 3 men’s team defeated Killarney 5 1 at home on Thursday night. Team Donie Enright, Donnacha Moloney, James Sheehan and Christopher McCarthy. The Moyvane Club will host its 25th Invitation Tournament sponsored by Newtownsandes Co-Op. on Sunday next December 12th starting at 12 noon with Division 5.
Juvenile Badminton:
Last weekend the U17 Kerry team were unlucky to lose out on a Munster Title by just two sets. Moyvane players on the team were Ashley Sheehy, Kieran Flavin, Timmy Noonan, and Con Mulvihill.

Abbeyfeale Adult Choir:
Abbeyfeale Adult Choir, along with the Kerry Chamber Choir, the Kerry Chamber Orchestra and the Kerry Youth Choir will perform in the Church of the Assumption on Sunday, December 12th at 7pm in a musical celebration of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Admission will be just €10 per adult with accompanying children free. Funds raised at this Christmas Celebration will be distributed between Crumlin and Temple St. Hospitals and also used to help the young people who are travelling to Madrid for World Youth Week. Christmas Hooley:
The Christmas Hooley in aid of Wl102fm will be held at the Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine on Monday, December 13th with music by Liam Cantillon, Ita Madden and Patrick O’Sullivan and Footloose. Finger food will be served, there will be a Raffle and Spots and a special visit from Santa. Admission €10. Tickets available on the night.

Moyvane ICA would like to thank all who attended the Family Fun Day on Sunday 28th November. They had a very successful day.Santa was delighted to meet all the children of the area. Sympathy is offered to Mary Scannell on the death of her Uncle, Mick Windle.
The death also took place of Betty Coughlan nee Lynch of Ardagh, Co. Limerick and formerly of Gortdromagouna. She is survived by her husband Jimmy, daughters, Margaret & Elizabeth, her sisters Nancy & Margaret, brothers Paddy, Con, Mike & Jimmy. Her burial took place last Tuesday in Ahavoher Cemetery, Moyvane. Sympathy is extended to all her family.
