Moyvane Notes – 7th June, 2005

Diocesan Collection for the education of Priests on next weekend 11th/ 12th June.

Exam Mass : The Exam Mass was celebrated on Saturday last by Fr John Lucid PP, Students doing both Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate Examinations participated in the Mass by doing the readings and prayers of the faithful. The Choir and the local branch of Comhaltas greatly enhanced the ceremony. Wishing all those doing Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate the best of luck in their examinations.

Group Water Scheme : The Gortdromasillihy/ Tubbertureen Group Water Scheme is now taken over by Kerry County Council and all enquiries regarding maintenance etc should be referred to the Water Services Department, Kerry County Council, Rathass, Tralee, Telephone (066) 7183503. For the record the scheme became operational on the 19th of April 1996.

  GAA NOTES : SENIORS   Moyvane play Brosna in the County league on Sat. night at 8pm. in Brosna.   This is a vital game for our lads as we need to get a good result to keep our momentum  going.

JUNIORS   Moyvane defeated St.Pats. in the Urban league on Fri. night last.   This win could bring us back into contention so it important that we win our remaining games.  Next Fri. night they play Tarbert in Tarbert at 8pm.

STAND    Roofing of the stand should be going ahead within the next week so again we ask people to be careful around the stand and please obey the warning signs.

UNDER 8 and 10    Training will continue for our U8 and U10 on next Tues. night at 7pm.  All players are asked to be there and enjoy their sessions. They are playing a lot of challenge games and doing very well indeed.

UNDER 12   Moyvane play Tarbert in the County league on Sun. next in Tarbert at 7pm.  Bus will leave the corner at 6.15pm sharp.


UNDER 14    Moyvane play Bally/Asdee in Ballylongford on Wed. 8th June at 7.30pm.   Bus will leave the corner at 6.45pm. sharp.

Weddings : The marriage took place recently of John Fitzgerald Aughrim Moyvane and Susanna Moriarty Tralee at St. Brendan’s Church’s Curraheen. The Reception was held in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel Tralee.
The marriage took place on saturday last of Margaret Cunningham Kilbaha and Tony Ahern Athea at Robertstown Church Foynes. The Reception was held in the Devon Inn Templeglantine.

Development / TIdy Towns : The monthly cleanup of the village continues by the Development committee. It is also important to keep our Award winning nature walk tidy especially around the picnic areas. Thanks.
