Moyvane Notes – 8th December, 2001

SCOR: Tara Mulvihill has won the solo singing. Moyvane ballad group also won their way into the county final of Scor which will be held in the Glen Eagle Killarney on Sunday night next. The ballad group members are Margaret Foley, Tara Mulvihill, Celine Mulvihill and Deirdre Moloney. The very best of luck to the girls on Sunday. Starting time in Killarney is 6.30.

Senior Citizens: The annual Christmas dinner will be held at the Listowel Arms Hotel on Sunday December 16 at 2pm. Names to the following: Eileen Quinn (49472), N. O’Callaghan (49350), or any committee member.

Seán Lynch, Leitrim Middle was presented with a Garda Achievements Award by Chief Superintendent Fred Garvey at a function at the Brandon Hotel.

St Michael’s College, Listowel won the Munster U15 Corn na Bandon final in Askeaton last Friday. Moyvane player Gerard Barrett played in goals. Joint trainers John Mulvihill and Mossie Carrig.

Comhaltas: Irish night this Friday night at Joe’s.

Moyvane juniors were defeated by Emmets in the replay of the North Kerry intermediate championship on Sunday last. Emmets had the stronger panel and were able to take the loss of senior players much better. However Moyvane played very well and were in the game right to the very end. The lads gave their very best and can be pleased with the big effort put in.

Moyvane G.A.A. intend to run a club draw early next year to raise funds for the field development which is hoped to start next March. They plan to launch their draw before Christmas.

The marriage took place at the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane of Clare McGrath, Ahalana, Moyvane, and Maurice Kennelly, Inchimore, Moyvane. The reception was held at the Woodlands, Adare.
