Moyvane GAA:
U12s: Moyvane U12’s played Cordal last Saturday night in Cordal in the second round of phase II of the County League, winning on a score line of 4-7 to 9 points. This was a hard fought match with some excellent defending by Moyvane in the closing stages of the game. Team: Jack Harrisson, Jack Goulding, Jerry Clancy, Marie Flaherty, Moira Flaherty, Donie Stack, Gearóid Stack-Mulvihill, Shane Carmody, Tomás Moore, Liam Leahy, Gavin Kennelly, James Flaherty, Micheál Collins, Colin Enright, Shea Leahy, Liam Greaney, Dylan Quinn, Kieran Curran, Marie Kennelly, Christopher Keane, Shane Quinn. Training this Friday evening from 6pm – 7pm.

Senior Citizens:
A fundraising Irish night will be held in Brosnan’s Bar on Saturday night, June 19th. There will be lots of local talent on display so come along, have a good time and help support your local seniors who have contributed so much to the community over the years.

Summer Fundraiser:
A summer fundraiser in aid of Cystic Fibrosis will be held at Kirby’s Lanterns Hotel, Tarbert on Saturday, June 19th starting at 7pm. This is a serious event with loads of good food and entertainment. You can enjoy a BBQ, featuring a spit-roast pig, dance to the live band, Escapade & Disco with DJ’s Excel & Fizzy. There will be Face Painting & Bouncy Castle for the younger generation and an auction for a signed Munster Jersey, a Bobble Head Ray from the Ray D’Arcy Show and a painting from Irish artist Tony O’Connor, who of course has Tarbert connections. There will be a raffle for many, many prizes and all for only €15. Please support this very worthy cause.

Active Retirement Day:
An active retirement day will be held in Knockanure Community Centre next Monday, June 14th. If you would like to attend please contact the office at 068 49799 between 9.30am and 1.30pm Monday to Friday.

Physiotherapy Clinic:
A physiotherapy clinic has opened in Knockanure Centre. "First Step" is a branch of the Patrickswell clinic. If you would like an appointment call Sentil at 087 7777600. Cost of treatment is €50 for a one hour session.

Car Boot Sale & Indoor Market:
The monthly fund raising car boot sale in aid of WL102fm takes place on Sunday next, June 13th at the Community Centre, NCW. Gates open at 7.30am. Further details from 087 6866450.

Deaths:
Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Eileen Goulding of Knockanure Village who died suddenly last week. In her sixties, Eileen was a quiet kind lady and her death came as a shock to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Hugh, daughters Mary, Noreen & Eleanore and a very large extended family.
