WORKING DAYS

THE fine weather has been greatly welcomed by the people of the locality with the cutting of turf in full swing. A number of round bales silage have also been harvested in farms around the locality during the week.

SET DANCING

The West Limerick Set-Dancing Club will hold a Set-Ceili in the Convent Hall, Abbeyfeale this Sunday at 4.00pm. Music by Fodhla Ceili Band, All Sets Called.

WEDDING

The marriage took place recently of Pat Walsh, Barrougeen and Anne Reidy, Tulla, Co. Clare at the Church of St Colmcille, Clouna, Ennistymon Co. Clare. The Reception was held in the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon.

TRANSPORT

Kerry Community Transport Ltd services are available to anyone who wishes to use them Ballylongford-Tarbert-Moyvane to Listowel every Tuesday Depart Ballylongford at 10.30am Depart Listowel at 1.30pm. Anyone wishing to use this service can do so by calling 1890-528-528 Cost of travel €4 Single or Return Free Travel pass accepted on all services.

COLLECTION

The church cate Collection in Moyvane / Knockanure raised €610.20 for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick children in Crumlin. A sincere thank you to all who supported and helped with the collection.

ICA

The Moyvane I.C.A Guild was formed 50 years ago this year and to mark the occasion a function will be held in The Lanterns, Tarbert on June 13. Any past members who would like to attend should contact Olive Keane or any member as soon as possible.

DEATHS

The death took place recently of Kitty Moore, Listowel and late of the Glin Road, Moyvane. Burial took place in Ahavoher Cemetery. The death has taken place of Maudie Carroll (nee Ahern) Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare and late of Leitrim Middle, Moyvane. Burial took place in Sixmilebridge, Co.Clare

GAA

Moyvane Minors have qualified for the semi-final of the County league which will take place on Friday night. No venue has yet been decided so please check posters for definite fixture. Our opponents will be either Cordal or Firies.

The Juniors had a great win over Ballyduff in the North Kerry league on Tuesday night last week on a score of 1 – 14 to 1 – 4. This was a good all round display by our lads. Next Tuesday, they play Emmets B in Clounmacon at 7.30pm.

The under-14s have qualified for the semi-final of the County league and are now waiting for the result of a playoff game. The under-12s play Knocknagoshel in Knocknagoshel at 7.00pm on Sunday. Bus leaves the village at 6pm sharp. The under-16s play St. Senans in a playoff game for the North Kerry league this Wedesday in Tarbert at 7.30pm.
