THE marriage has taken place of Karina Shanahan, Kilbaha and Aidan Stack, Murhur, at the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane. The reception was held in the Earl of Desmond hotel. The couple will reside in Kilbaha.
The Diocesan collection will be taken up at all masses next weekend for Pastoral and Retreat Centres.
The death has taken place of Dr. Tom Leahy, Kilcoolaght House, St. Annes Road, Killarney and late of Lisaniska, Knockanure. He was 80 years of age. His remains were removed to St. Mary’s Cathedral and he was buried in Aghadoe cemetery following Requiem Mass.
he is survived by his wife Julia (nee McElligott), formerly of Moyvane village, daughters Bernadette, Elaine, Deirdre and the late Thomas Gerard, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Monsignor Michael and jack, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Moyvane seniors are drawn to play the winners of Ballydonoghue or Fossa in the next round of the Novice championship. Players are asked to check about the fixture.
Our minors play Ballydonoghue in the semi-final of the North Kerry league on Thursday night in Ballylongford at 7.30pm. They are after a great run so lets hope that things go well on the night for them. Let us get out and support them.
Moyvane juniors play Desmonds in the North Kerry Intermediate championship next Monday night in Duagh at 7pm sharp. There will be extra time in this game if needed so players should take note.
Under 21 – Moyvane play Beale in the North Kerry championship on Wednesday, August 13 in Ballylongford at 7pm. Extra time if needed.
Moyvane under 12’s play Tarbert in Tarbert this Wednesday at 7.30pm. Then next Wednesday they play Ballylongford/Asdee in Knockanure at 7.30pm.
Under 10’s will play a four team tournament in Knockanure next Saturday at 12 noon sharp.
Moyvane under 16’s play Glenbeigh/Glencar in the final game of the County League on Wednesday night in Knockanure at 7.30pm. All players are asked to be there on time.
Despite the weather, all those who attended at the Munster Fleadh held in Skibbereen had a great time.
Tara Mulvihill and Kieran Flavin both qualified for the All Ireland Fleadh to be held in Clonmel on the weekend of August 23-24.
Kieran Lane came third in the 12-15 English singing and our under 14 set dancers: Thady Finucane, Kieran Lane, Owen Stack, Kevin Fitzmaurice, Una Fitzmaurice, Norella Molyneaux, Breda Lane and Shauna Foley came third.
