Moyvane

Moyvane Notes – 9th December, 2000

AS the people of the electoral division of Newtownsandes have received their ballot papers, anyone who wishes to have Newtownshandes replaced by Moyvane on the Register of electors must place X opposite the word yes. Secondly it must be signed and dated. It will have to be signed by a witness, this witness may be any person who is known to you. It is to be posted in the ‘free post’ pre-addressed envelope and returned to Kerry County Council by Friday next. Over 433 electors must vote yes if the proposed name change is to be made on the register and have Moyvane recognised legally. It is a historic occasion for the people of this electoral division and a first for the Kerry County Council.

The Kerry Community Games AGM was held in the Grand Hotel, Tralee. The delegates from 23 areas from the County discussed a total of 32 motions and seven recommendations. One of the recommendations was that Badminton would be removed from the calendar of events in year 2002 if more participation was forthcoming. Kit Horan was re-elected as County Registrar for year 2001.
