Moyvane Development Association:
A public meeting will be held in the Marian Hall on Tuesday, February 15th at 9pm with the intention of organising an event to celebrate “The Gathering Ireland 2013”. It is proposed that this event would take place in conjunction with the Moyvane Village Festival on the October Bank Holiday weekend. Representatives from all Clubs and Organisations within the parish, as well as any individuals interested, are invited to attend this meeting.
Senior Badminton:
The Division 4 Ladies and Mens teams will both contest the League Finals in Tralee on this Wednesday night. Best of luck to both teams. The Mixed Leagues have already started and will continue over the next few months, all players are expected to attend club nights regularly so as to be considered for team places. New members are always welcome. Play is on Monday and Wednesday nights with extra training times for different divisions.
Knockanure Community Centre:

Ladies Football:
Moyvane ladies Club would like to thank Breda Lane (Kerry County Senior Player ) and Laura Lavery (sports coach) for presenting the players with their medals on Wednesday, January 2nd in the Marian Hall. The u12s 14s and 16s all were North Kerry Division 3 winners so well done to all. The u8s and 10s gave very promising displays in the blitzs competitions last year, winning them all. The club would like to thank the trainers for their commitment and time given and also thank Moyvane and Clonmacon GAA for the use of their pitches during the year.
Limerick West Grow it Yourself:
With the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food, Limerick West GIY, will hold its first meeting of 2013 on Thursday, January 17th at 7pm sharp in D&M Garden Centre, Croagh with new growers and old hands all welcome. This month’s talk will be given by Tom of D&M Garden Centre who will speak about garden layout and design. This talk will definitely put you on track as we head into a new growing season. GIY’s vision is for a healthier, more connected and more sustainable world where people grow their own food. Deaths:
The death took place on December 26th of Denny McEnery of Tubbertureen at the age of 91. Married to Kitty Cox of Asdee for over 50 years, Denny was a hard working man whose father died when he was just 12. He is survived by his wife Kitty, one daughter Margaret and six sons,Denis, John, Tom, Liam, Leonard & Aidan. He was the last surviving member of the family of Den McEnery and Margaret Hudson. Following Requiem Mass in the Church of the Assumption, burial took place in Knockanure Old Graveyard.
Jim Sheehy of Pilgrim Hill, Kilmorna and Springmount, Duagh died on December 23rd at his home. He was brother of the late Ned Sheehy, Leitrim Middle. His funeral Mass took place in Duagh with burial in Springmount Cemetery. John Barrett of Lenamore, Ballylongford died recently. He is survived by his wife, Madeline (Moriarty) daughters Anita & Dympna and sons Mike & James. Burial took place in Lislaughtin Abbey after Requiem Mass in Ballylongford Church.
The funeral took place recently in England of Eugene Brandon of Aughrim. He was son of the late Nora & Jack Brandon and is survived by his sisters Nodie, Mary & Margaret. Tom Walsh died recently in England. He was brother to Mike Joe & Eddie, Bally Road. Sympathy to all relatives of the above.
