Moyvane

Moyvane Notes – 9th June, 2001

NEWTOWNSANDES Co-op Dairy Society Limited is one of the very few creameries still independent from the larger milk producers. The turnover of the creamery for 2000 was £6,465,000 and £6,530,000 for 1999. Profit before taxation was £181,000 in 2000 and £149,000 in 1999. The statement of movement in profits retained, balance at December 31, 2000 is £4,101,000 and £3,938, 000 in 1999. Newtownsandes Co-op Dairy Society Ltd is one of the great success stories in the locality, however, they seem to have an undemocratic method of selecting committee members.

Moyvane U/10 should have a game this week so players are asked to check with their trainers about fixture. They have played a few games already and have done very well indeed.

Our juniors lost to Desmonds in the North Kerry League on Tuesday night and then on Friday night we lost to a very well organised Clounmacon side in the Urban League. We need to get back on tracks again so we have a chance on Friday when we take on Charlie Kerins in Moyvane at 8pm.
