The Glin Road lost it’s oldest citizen last week. Nora Roche (nee Ahern) passed away at the ripe old age of 96. Longevity obviously runs in the family because her sister Mary Ellen Houlihan died in London last November at the age of 98. Nora was a fit and healthy lady up to a few years ago. She loved walking and was a daily Mass goer. She was predeceased by her husband Mick 39 years earlier. She is survived by her daughter Joan, sons Tom & Seamus, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and relatives.
The death also took place last week of Nora Carmody of Skehenerin, Listowel. Nora was predeceased by her husband Paddy and son Mossie. She is survived by her daughters Eileen Quinn, Ahalahana, Kay, Marie, Noreen & Anna, sons Johnny, Stevie & Pat.
Anna O’Reilly nee O’Connell of Castleknock, Dublin and formerly of Glin Road, Moyvane died at the weekend. At 71 she was the youngest of the family of the late Tom & Molly O’Connell who both taught in Murhur N.S. Anna, who had a long battle with illness is survived by her husband Louis, daughters Anita & Louise, sons Brendan, Jim, John & Philip, sisters Mairead, Kitty, Jo, Maisie, Bess & Dympna and brother Maurice. Sympathy is extended to all families.
