Badminton: 
Moyvane Senior Badminton Club reopens in the Community Centre on Monday, September 6th at 8pm. Players of every level and age over 16 are welcome to join. If you haven’t played before and would like to try the game come along on Monday or Wednesday next at 8pm and give it a try. 

 

Moyvane GAA:
Seniors: Moyvane seniors lost out to Na Gaeil in Round 9 of the County League on Saturday last.
Minors: Congratulations to the Moyvane Minor Team and Management who played Beale in the North Kerry League Division 2 Final in Coolard last week. In spite of playing some fine football on the night Moyvane were beaten by a point at the final whistle on a score of Moyvane 0-10, Beale 0-11. Team and Scorers: Brendan Galvin, Padraig Keane, Conor Leahy, Timmy Noonan (0-2), James Flavin, Shane Stack, James Noonan (0-1), Kevin Fitzmaurice, Stephen O’ Carroll (0-2), Martin Sheehy (0-3), PJ Stack, Con Mulvihill (0-2), Paddy Greaney.  Subs: P.J. Reynolds, Edmund Sweeney, Aidan Enright and Thomas Quinn.
Juniors: Moyvane B have reached the Final of the Intermediate North Kerry Championship overcoming Emmets B in Duagh. Final score was Moyvane B 2-8, Emmets B 1-10.  Moyvane Scorers: Tommy Keane (2-1), Cathal O’ Connor (0-2), John Jack Mulvihill (0-2), Jackie Mulvihill (0-2), James Noonan (0-1).  The Intermediate North Kerry Championship Final against Castleisland Desmonds will be played in Duagh on Friday, September 10th at 6:30pm. Best of Luck to the team and management.
U13:  Moyvane are away to Tarbert in the North Kerry Championship on Friday, September 10th at 6:30pm.
Race Night: Moyvane GAA Club will hold their annual video race night in Brosnan’s Bar on Thursday, September 16th at 9:30pm. Everyone welcome.
Club Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s Jackpot of €4,000.  Numbers drawn were 5   7   15   22.  Lucky Dips of €40 each: Eileen Cronin, Mail Road Cross, Timmy Joe Sheehan, Tarbert Road, Mairead O’ Sullivan, Lenamore, Mags Horgan, Dromurhur, The Kennelly Ladies, Moyvane South.  Next week’s Jackpot is €4,200 and the draw will be held in Hanrahan’s Bar.
Ladies GAA: Well done to the U14 team on their win over Duagh in the North Kerry League. The U16 team have reached the County Final against Rathmore on September 19th.  Further details will follow. Congratulations to the Moyvane – Clounmacon Senior Ladies team on their County Final win over John Mitchels on a score of 3-8 to 1-1 in Mountcoal on Saturday last. Well done to all involved. 

Moyvane/Knockanure Youth Club:

Registration night for youth club is on this Friday September 10th in the Marian Hall, Moyvane between 8-9pm. A parent must be present on the night to sign the membership form, and will also be asked to help out with supervision on two nights. If an end of year trip to Wales is to be considered this year, then we will have to get to work fundraising, any ideas would be most welcome! 

 

 

Taekwon-Do:
Taekwon-Do comes to Moyvane. Classes will be on Saturdays from 1pm to 2pm in the Marian Hall starting this Saturday, September 11th. All ages are welcome from age 7 upwards. For information contact Sara at 087 1374399 or James at 086 0812963.

Music Classes: 
Ballylongford/Tarbert CCE are enroling for their Autumn term traditional music classes at St Oliver’s National School in Ballylongford on Tuesday, September 21st from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. It is important that all pupils of the past year who wish to continue with their music studies and any new beginners be enrolled on Tuesday, 21st as classes need to be arranged. Teachers will be available to discuss instruments etc. Classes for beginners only will commence on Friday, September 24th and all other pupils will be a week later.

Computer Courses:
Community IT Access Centre Tarbert will commence Autumn courses in Computers shortly and enrolments are now being taken. Courses being offered are as follows: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Internet and Email, pre-ECDL, ECDL, Digital Photography, Sage Computerised Accounts, One-to-one tuition and Silver Surfer Club. The IT Centre is open from 9:30am until 5:30pm from Monday until Thursday and from 9:30am until 4:30pm on Fridays. Our autumn special promotion offers internet access for only €2 per hour on Fridays from 1:30pm until 4:30pm

 

Senior Citizens:

The Senior Citizens Committee sincerely wish to thank all who helped to make the Senior Party a great success. A special thank you to the local Business People for sponsorship and spot prizes and to everyone who gave prizes. Thanks to Our Seniors for attending. All helped to make the occasion enjoyable.

Knockanure Community Centre:

Aerobic Classes will commence at the centre on Wednesday, September 1st, 2010 at 8pm. The Next Active Retirement Day will take place at the centre on Monday, September 6th. The Committee of Knockanure Community Centre would like to thank Leo Finucane for use of his tent on Vintage Day and also to thank all who donated cakes on the day.
Knockanure Tidy Towns: The Tidy Towns committee would like to convey their deep gratitude to all who helped in any way to make their fundraising effort on Vintage Day a success.

Anyone wishing to join the Sunday Morning Choir please come along to practice on Thursday September 9th in the School, ages 7 upwards. Adults also welcome.

Deafhear.ie will hold an outreach service in Listowel at the Citizens Information Centre, 35 The Square on Friday September 10th from 10am to 12.30pm.  Information on coping with loss of hearing, difficulties using hearing aids & the latest equipment to assist you in your daily life.
