Moyvane Notes – 9th December 2020

MURHUR NS: Split the Bucket is back with the next draw on Friday, December 18 at 9:30pm. Thank you for your support, you have been very good and it is much appreciated.

CLOTHING COLLECTION:  The Marian Hall has kindly allowed us to both store clothing prior to collection and act as the new drop-off point on day of our Collection. If you have any of the following unwanted: Clothing, Clean, dry Bedding Sheets, Duvet covers, Pillow cases, Shoes, Handbags please bag them and drop them to the Marian Hall, Glin Road on the following dates and times: Saturday, December 12 (9:00am to 11:00am). Monday, December 14 (8:00pm to 9:00pm), Wednesday, December 16 (9:15am to 10:15am) or Thursday, December 17 (9:00am to 10:00am). Covid safety protocols and procedures will be in place, including wearing of masks, 2M social distancing, no congregating outside hall, people dropping off bags of clothes will take their own bags out of cars and must follow a one-way system entering and leaving hall – members of the Parents Council will be on site to guide and direct you. Strictly NO dropping bags outside of Marion Hall at any time. 

MURHUR NS COOKBOOK: The Children of Murhur NS have created a wonderful Cookbook, as a fundraiser, just in time for Christmas. Cookbooks priced at only €10 will be available for sale in Holly’s Gala. Hurry as stocks are Limited!

CHRISTMAS POSTING DATES: Parcels to European Countries December 12. Letters to European Countries: December 17. Parcels & Letters to Great Britain: December 18.
The Post Office will be open 6 days a week, open full Saturdays on December 12 & 19.

MOYVANE GAA LOTTO: There was no winner of the €8,800 Jackpot. Numbers drawn were 2   8   12  14. Lucky Dips of €40 each: Eileen Cronin, Mail Road Cross. Margaret Lynch, Moyvane Village. Johnny Mulvihill, Leitrim East. Florrie Mullin, Moyvane. Noreen  O’Connell, Ahalahana. Tickets are available online and from Kennelly’s Homevalue Hardware, Holly’s Gala, Stack’s Butchers, Corridan’s Garage and Newtownsandes Co-op. We would like to thank Liam Hanrahan from Hanrahan’s Bar for helping with the draw tonight. The current Jackpot is €8,900 and the draw will be held on Sunday, December 13 at 8.00pm at Con Brosnan Park.  As always thank you for your continued support.

MOYVANE GAA AGM 2020: The deadline for motions and nominations has now passed.  All current officers return unopposed and no motions were submitted.  The Moyvane AGM Day date will be Friday, December 11.  On this date the current Executive Committee will ratify all officers for 2021 along with appointing management for the Minor, U20, Junior and Senior teams.  All questions on the AGM documents along with any other business will be dealt with by the Executive and answered by email within 7 days of the AGM date.  We thank you for your cooperation during these unprecedented times and hope we can get back to some form of normality sooner rather than later.  Please contact Aine on 0870906892 if you have any queries on the AGM format.

DONATIONS: Some families have made generous donations towards the painting/lights/footpath works in Moyvane Church. Fr. Kevin would like to acknowledge a generous donation from Moneypoint Power Station, which was acquired by an employee from the Parish. These donations have helped so much – very many thanks.

STAINED GLASS WINDOWS: Four new small stained glass windows will arrive soon in Moyvane Church for the outside windows of the confession boxes. These will enhance our already beautiful Church.
